Hi Maina,i speak German as a second language and would like to know the origins of the word ANGST

  2. Thanks for the complements here at the end Marina I think the same things about you along with the former too(a male thing)(added values) as long as you don,t you know, tax it.

You made my day today. Thank you for saying that part at the end. I really needed to hear that from somone other than my mom. Thanks again, Gabby.

  6. You didn’t have to try so hard to be cute, your smile makes you so cute, and the lifting of your leg at the middle was also really cute. Also, in the video at the end, everything applies to you: the great look, the beauty, the sexiness, the smartness, and above all the intelligence

And I wouldn’t say that motolocox, there are plenty of girls who are cute and sexy. Like Marina here would be a perfect example, or her clone hotforprofits.

ARGH! My take on “cute” is this: When someone calls you cute they really mean that you are not ugly enough to be called ugly, yet not handsome enough or pretty enough to be called either. So when someone calls you “cute” they are not doing you any favors! After all, cute means “monkey” in Spanish.

can u do accuse? as in – my girfriend accuses me of sleeping with another girl  does it have a connection to acute?

  11. I like very what you say at the end of the clip.

    Привет Марина,
    Красивое сообщение!
New students should take this lesson from Marina!

  15. Marina i have to agree with artlover what he says make a lot of sense. in your earlyer videos there was a sense of vunerabilty in them as if you were perhaps trying to get over a major disappointment in your life and trying to move on

got the last part sweety and hell yeah i totaly agree.although i gotta say… when u sayd “it doesont matter how sexy someone looks“ this is true but still u have 2 have a figure that will not scare every single person on the street if ya know what i mean. and of course when i use the word “you“ i dont mean you Marina caus Jesus Christ u look … incredibli hot and sexy. and i think every single guy here agrees with me

Interesting lesson. I wholeheartedly agree with the postscript, and Marina seemed pretty serious about the point she was making. This must be a pretty old video, because I don’t think it’s a secret anymore that Marina is a philologist.

As for cute primarily applying to girls, it is also common in the modern American vernacular for girls to refer to a good-looking guy as “cute” rather than “handsome” or some other such word denoting good looks, with ‘kinda cute’ being used in an ironic way by girls to say they think a guy is really good-looking. Notice I just used ironic in the proper way, as I just learned the irony lesson recently. I realized that cutting down on my comment length meant having more time to fit in lessons at least once a day, so I did two old ones tonight after having another late night. Well worth it, as they made a nice nightcap.

    Hello Marina,

I agree that intellect is important, but betimes the cuteness of a gentle star which catches mine eyes on a sun quest day, dear lady I pray that if you could tell me what “oronyms” be said to be, in sensibility terms this day.

I will bid you good in the hope that I receive a swift reply someday soon!

    • I would like to know why certain people posting here feel the need to do their best Shakespeare impersonation when making comments or asking questions. I mean, “betimes?” “mine eyes?” What the hell? And how can a star catch your eye during the day?

I think it is really interesting when you say what you really think instead of just playing the role. It is always such a contradiction to appeal to lower part of the male brain at the same time as to the higher part. Of course, men would prefer the sexy part over the intelligent. This is because they see women primarily in terms of their own emotional and sexual needs, or perhaps they are looking for surrogate love. I sense that it would be easy for your students to fall in love with you, and I suspect that many have already. And looking at the videos from the beginning, it is clear they are the result of some emotional quest on your part as well. You put a lot of your own love into these videos and interaction with your students. In some of the very early ones, you look like you are in a lot of emotional turmoil within, so it was perhaps a hard time for you personally. No doubt the success of your project has boosted your self-confidence and self-esteem, as you appear much more confident and in control now. These videos are kind of like your own personal diary, a diary of personal exploration that goes well beyond philology. I feel kind of like a voyeur watching it, so I am not so sure it is a healthy thing to get hooked on. You also put tid bits of philosophy into your scripts, and there is nothing wrong with this. You could do much more in terms of being real for yourself, hopefully to educate your students more on feminist ideas and philosophy, as such is inevitably part of any life process of personal development, i.e., for any self-educating and open minded person of intelligence as you obviously are.
