Read Théophile Gautier “Hashishin club” (though im not too sure about its english title..) – there he mentioned that eating hash came from arabs.

Also, there is an interesting fact about a word keef – arabs used this word to name a condition when you are most relaxed after eating hash.

• hash can be cooked with a small amount of butter. and eaten with yogurt (honey/tea/whatever). being taken this way, it has stronger effect then if you smoke.
