No Duct Tape?
Duct tape and bailing wire. To complete the emergency tool kit, don’t forget a pair of channel locks and a good ol’ crescent hammer. Yep, that’ll cover just about everything.
It looks like we are so bored with the current lesson (“HOW BORED ARE WE?”), that we have reopened the mine shaft for this old one and are down here picking away at the mineface to see what nuggets might have been overlooked.
The perfect time to go out and vacuum out the car. It’s just ducky outside now, although it will heat up soon. (We tied the all-time record for a high temp yesterday and Modesto beat it by 5°F.)

I have seen duct tape that is adhesive-back aluminum foil, so duck cloth is not necessarily a component of duct tape.

I owned a cattle ranch/farm for 7 years and I can tell you that if you dont have a goodly supply of duct tape and baling wire either A) you NEED to get some or B) you are not actually farming! You would be surprised at the tensile strength you can get from combining these two. 90% of Americas farms would admittedly not be able to operate without it. The other 10% are lying.
In an emergency, you could encapsulate two baling wires strands between strips of duck tape and run a bilge pump with it. In that case, it would be bailing wire.

Duck ™ brand duct tape is used for sealing ducts. Duck ™ brand painters’ tape is used for masking items to be painted where the paint is not wanted. Duck ™ brand duck tape is for the life or me not useful for anything. On the other hand any duct tape can be used to replace a v-belt, fan belt etc. in an emergency cituation, for a short rope (similar emergency), to repair almost anything and/or anything, so for this reason should be in all first aid, camping, hiking, fishing, etc kits.

Dear Marina, This Duct/Duck tape video is unique… I didn’t notice until today that this show dates all the way back to October — – Since I did not discover your “Hot For Words” Web Site Lessons until recently, many of your shows are brand new to me, and I love to see them over and over again.
Of course, whenever I think of duct tape, I remember trying to use it to hold in my 8 track Tull and Zepplin tapes back in the day….and, for some reason, my music just wouldn’t play smoothly until my Girlfriend carefully repositioned the cartridge and the tape. She has a magic touch! …and the tape sure came in handy….
Who could have imagined it Marina? Now, we have I-pods and laptops, and my Girlfriend has her very own music to play for me.
Have you ever recorded any songs? I’ll bet you would be a hot
starlet … up on stage…. and in all the big record stores! You have a very smooth and sexy voice, and I have a feeling that whenever you sing, even the birds stop to listen.
