There seems to be a logical explanation about why women have nipples – for babies. But why do men’s bodies retain what appears to be redundant body parts? The Darwinian natural selection process would seem to dictate that male nipples really should not be there. So what’s the deal? Why do men have nipples?
The answer is that as embryos men and women have similar tissues and body parts. If anything the embryo follows a ‘female template’. That is why nipples are present in both sexes. It is the effect of the genes, the Y chromosome and the hormone testosterone that brings about the changes and masculinises the embryo. Testosterone promotes the growth of the penis and testicles. Because nipples are there before this process begins the nipples stay!

    …[nipples]…dimples for the cripples

Excellent video. Good choice of word too. Perhaps do other monsterous words such as vampire, lycanthorope, mummy, or ogre. Thanks

pre-dane. old norse (medieval scandinavian) “Wer” means man. a related word is Berserker->ON Berserganger, lit. one who wears the face/skin of a bear. these vikingr were reputed to actually become their totem animal in battle.

wif or wife might actually come from Danish “viv” which today, although rarely used, also means wife. A lot of scandinavian words was made part of english during Denmarks reign. Many of these words can still be traced today, although Danish have taken a lot of words from English since then and therefore can be a bit confusing about which comes from which.

That’s Marina’s dog, as i suspected might be in this video. One of the reasons I watched it, actually.

Interesting lesson. ‘Werewolf’ is also the title of one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen on a Mystery Science Theater 3000. Funny MST3K episode, but horrid movie.

cool… caught up with my lesson regime after missing out over the weekend. i was too busy up late being a wolf for a couple nights.
