All my life I have heard the word [squirrely], for example, [that person is quirrley] but when someone ask me what it means it is hard for me to explain, it is a southern expression thats been around longer than I care to think, where does it come from and what is the true meaning.

I am curious, where terms “Pulling your leg” or another ” blowing smoke in your face” comes from.
Both terms have been around since my grandparents, and they died in there 80’s and they have been dead for 40 some years.

BBQ Answer
To BBQ, one will roast the meat over a slow fire, normally fuelled by wood, today a lot of natural gas; and charcoal, instead of wood.
PS. Wood is defentately better.

PSS. I disagree with runawayscott; grilling is when you grill in an oven; BBQ is when you slowly cook over an open fire, traditionally with wood.

Of course the souce has a lot to do with it as well. There is a lot difference between BBQ souce, and all these others.
