Marina – You have beautiful eyes and I can see the stars in your eyes even when wearing shades. lol The opposite of Geek was Imp to first cross my mind which could qualify as a dumb jock.

  6. motorace says: 29

The antonym for “geek” is “jock”.

A synonym for “geek” is “tech-weenie”.

Thanks for making learning fun & sexy – Where were you when I was growing up?

  7. Of course I clicked on the link Marina … wait that was last year @_@ I suppose it still means fool in a subconscious way. Personally I’m a geek for marina and her clone hotforprofits.

  12. vodfather says: 23

how did the whole circus geek get missed? as used here geek is a verb denoting strange and bizzare acts. please refer to comedian harry anderson and his stand up routines that used geek acts.

  13. With ‘geek’ meaning intellegent, it makes sense because ‘Band Geeks’ consist of the most intellegent kids in school. But would that also make them ‘Band Fools’ ? i don’t really think so. You also mentioned that geeks did not have the best social skills. hmm… well if you have ‘ Band Geeks’ then that just pretty much takes the ‘no-social’ness out of that.
oh well just thought i’d throw that out there,

    great job <E

  14. buzzword says: 19

Czar remover/Scar remover, a possible pun?

  15. Marina,

having watched your video about “geeks” on Miro/Democracy Player, although I don’t know what is the opposite word for “geek”, I just want to tell you some words . I’m considered by my work colleagues and by my friends as a “geek”. A few months ago, this word was meaningless to me. But, now, I know, in my body, in my heart, what a geek is, thinks, does, hopes, and so on. What’s hard to live, is that you’re very often seen as “crazy” (which , in other people minds, means “this person in face of me is too strange, I can’t understand him, it scares me”. Having a good sense of humour might not be enough to change their point of view and become more friendly of open-minded). What’s your experience ?
Geeky hugs and kisses, Marina, our sexiest geek of 2007 and more.
    Cheers
    Erik.

  16. jcnick says: 15

Woe betides a fool to see a beautiful ‘Geek’ as you :!:

    &

    I Voted for you!

  17. tanis600 says: 14

Particularly given your definition of “geek” as someone highly intelligent but socially awkward, I submit “socialite” as the opposite–someone who is socially apt but, as evidenced by the likes of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Lindsey Lohan, intellectually a dullard.

Then again, maybe the opposite of a modern geek is the 19th century “geek”–a fool or simpleton.

  18. therist says: 13

I also requested an explanation for the origin of the word geek, and you didn’t mention me!!

  19. aafrophone says: 11

i actually play this instrument which is called a bassoon in english. but in most other languages it is “fagott” or some other form of that word. If you saw the instrument, you might understand why.

  20. This glasses make you look really “geeky”. Cool idea!

  21. badboy says: 9

“keeg” is the opposite of “geek” meaning ‘not geek’. Yet, these two words are slang by our usage of them today. It could be in similar fashion to say things such as ordinary, average, or normal, unless the derivative is slang.

  22. dietrio says: 8

opposite of geek is a keeg

The word keeg /kig/ is an English word, but is used in most languages in it’s original form.
Basically, keeg is the opposite of geek.

keeg can be used for more than meaning “not geek”. It can in fact be used for almost everything. That’s because people can agree with each other what the word geek actually means. Some asserts it means a person with no friends but his PC. Other claims the geeks are our society’s most-wanted for modern jobs, and therefore fabulous people.

thank you for a nice video and did I do my homework well ?

    Dietrio

I am surprised you omitted this common definition of a geek: a carnival performer, often billed as a wild man, whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken or snake

  24. BillyB says: 6

Whoa! Scared me a bit. Don’t hide your eyes. “Please”

  25. elmic101 says: 5

If your the sexiest geek then the opposite would be the ugliest

    Go San Diego
    I love the outfit.
    Love to the Teacher!

  26. Major Chaos says: 4

I always defined geek as “all brains, no brawn”. So the opposite would be “all brawn, no brains” which would refer to a jock.

However I am a proud geek but I am working out and bulking up so I guess I could be a “jeek” or maybe a “gock”.

    Your attentive student,
    Major Chaos

    • I can agree with this definition M Chaos.

Marina verrry well done, nice outfit and some excellent effects picked up on the shades but alas I also agree with Billy B when he said “don’t hide your eyes”. They are gems let them shine, shine, shine.
