you are clearly much too intelligent for TV…you would be better in film…you do this already of course…short film, like short story is the way to learn the art of writing…and you have improved so much over time…what about puppets? Hmm..I still see you as doing a kids show…actually guys are but big kids you know..and you appeal to younger people too…some innovative puppets would work well, one on each hand having a conversation..you sort of do this already with your evil twin…props are an excellent way to develop a story line…it’s all in the story…now you are the object too much…but with puppets, you can be the host and explore many new worlds…my fav was shari lewis and lamb chops…
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamb_Chop_(puppet)
you already have this element in your style already…with the animals…so you can talk to the animals and the puppets and the audience alternately…it is really puppet show style, which has element of fantasy, make believe, and you could get into classic genre, like David Bowey..young adults love the imaginary genre film…but create your own worlds..be original…and you can add humor easily as you have a lot of self-tension, i.e., tension with yourself…straight marina vs. funny marina…serious stuff vs. the imaginary fancies/fantasies…reserve vs. love…sexy marina vs the school teacher…my high school French teacher preceded you in this art many years ago, she wore sexy 60’s mini skirts and low cut blouse and would place her face inches from ours as we sat in our desks saying the vowels so we could see her tongue…so wonderful as I remember it!….I still like French better than Spanish…contradictions are important to hold the tension and interest…me ever the art critic..a little bit full of strange ideas…but it really is all in the story telling and the script writing, the intelligent imagination…i am sure your readers/viewers could come up with many stories for you to portray/develop

    Hey Marina,

I just want to say I love this jacket your wearing on the show. Its so smart. But then again some people say I have no taste in clothing. What the heck I’m a guy. So I hope to see you in it again.

Oh, it kills it when you post. FYI.

Last post this thread for at least… 30 minutes. A good, solid 30 minutes, I swear…

  4. roachmeistercom on April 7th, 2008 11:17 am

P.S. I put this thing on pause and it started over and lost my buffer, which caused me to miss the last 1/3 of the show, so.. sorry, I have high speed but for some reason it is not able to keep up.

  5. roachmeistercom on April 7th, 2008 11:15 am

It’s interesting to ponder where precisely in the pantheon of tv demigods you will be able to find a home, Marina. You and Michael Buckley may be buds, but your styles and formats are drastically different.

I don’t watch much tv outside real news and commentary. It appears you’re going to be on O’Reilly? That should be interesting. This will be the first time I have had prior knowledge of an online celeb before he interviews, so I will be able to see how much homework he actually did on you before the show.

I’m Sorry but that Joe Devito guy really pissed me off when he said something like “Am I the only one who can’t understand the linguistics teacher?”

I’m all for comedy but…I just don’t like people making fun of the ones I love! I bet you’ll know more words than his dumb ass will ever know or be able to spell!!!

Ugh…he’s the kind of guy that makes me not like America…

Anyways Marina, you were awesome and beautiful as always!!

Take this Fox News crap off the website. Stick with the purity of your message. You’ll make money without the sell-out “video Press hores”!

  14. bananakin on March 23rd, 2008 9:16 pm

i love your hair and outfit!

  15. captainjack on March 20th, 2008 9:53 pm

    Marina,

Wow! Now I know why I don’t watch TV or Fox news. They are still horrible. I guess watching you teach on YouTube is better for my sanity. The good news about this interview is you where able to teach them a thing or two and you where able to increase your exposure to the masses. Who knows where this will lead you to?

I see you as a pioneer in philology. Your bringing light to the subject of philology that no one has not seen in years. What are your goals with this teaching of philology? Where do you see yourself at in 5 years?

hey that was awfully rude what that guy was saying “is it just me or can noone else understand what the linquistics expert is saying” and than going on to make fun of how you said audio, very rude. well i can understand you perfectly and i like your accent, keep up the good work

  18. trueusmarine on March 6th, 2008 7:11 pm

Oh, and for the record, you are far more beautiful then that model. But im not gonna say she is ugly, cause she is beautiful too, heh.

  19. trueusmarine on March 6th, 2008 7:09 pm

Heh, I support Obama. The people that are criticizing operah are acting out of ignorance. I dont understand how she is a traitor. Meh, oh well. I thought it was funny though Marina when you said she was in love. Heh, it is possible after all. Oh and did I mention? I signed up for the site! Lol I commented your youtube videos…you might of seen this same username on there.

Also some group named anonymous, a group of computer hackers, think the Church of Scientology is completely evil, you should look it up on youtube.

Oh, and I would also like a email or something I can contact you for questions or anything, or maybe a myspace? Everybody has myspace -.-

How about ambulance? They hardly amble. Most I’ve seen pretty much haul ass. Does preamble tie in as well?
Keep up the great work! If you ever come up with a calendar,
I will buy several. It would make a terrific gift.

    Hey Marina

Fantastic job! You came across really well, very professional, polite and together

    You looked fantastic as well

You don’t need to show us your cleavage to look amazing ;)

    Hey, there’s a word, cleavage

  22. ctvadim on February 18th, 2008 4:49 pm

Kudos to Andrew on the show for backing you up.

You presented yourself great; I wish you could’ve gotten more airtime though. Ah well, I guess one simply has to get airtime where one can.

If you ever want to do a collaboration with one of the little people, let me know :)

Hello Marina! Are you still sending report cards? I’d like to submit some new examples of my writing style, and I hope you will improve my work with your remarkable finishing touches.

Is there a special category or certain way to submit my letters so that it will be easy for you to grade my work?

I’m doing the best I can to find stimulating words that leave lasting impressions.

As your # 1 Student, I am always looking for new ideas, and look forward to hearing from you, so I can know the best way to be graded.

    Love, Dave

    UP THE CREEK:

I’m up the creek without a paddle about this phrase. It seems that being DOWN the creek would be a problem, you couldn’t get back up; but if you’re up the creek and have lost your paddle, your canoe would just drift back to where you started.

  29. jackdoitcrawford on February 11th, 2008 2:19 pm

    Dear Marina,
You were absolutely THE voice of reason on that show. I don’t know if they were looking for a dumb blonde, but congratulations on not living up to that stereotype. Of course, that isn’t you at all anyway. You maintained a really sensible and restrained demeanor while coming up with a new fun idea to improve a game. Wow. Your b/f is one lucky guy.

  30. radiostar on February 9th, 2008 8:34 pm

    Marina,

Has anyone ever told you you look like Caprice Bourett? (Whom is also a Maxim model, coincidentally)

Red Eye didn’t impress me. Making slanderous conversation on the death of a celebrity when his family could have been watching turns me off. VERY immature in my opinion.

  31. 64davrecon on February 9th, 2008 12:37 pm

Watching this on Fox made me think of a few words
expressing the contrast between Marina and someone
    else on Fox who likes to introduce and discuss words;
    Bill O’Reilly….

    Mismatch
    No Contest
Umph, I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Thanks for posting the video, Marina,
BTW - You look awesome with the dishevelled look….

Eeek! After watching only a little bit of that - reminded me of a word that sort of describes my attitude, or feelings while watching that: “homonegativity”. I at first thought of the word: “homophobic”, but that word just didn’t fit accurately. Being that I only think that these guys are just annoying. A few other “words??” crossed my mind like “eeeeeww!” and “yuk!” and “icky!”.

  34. buzzword on February 5th, 2008 7:50 pm

Interesting to note the increasing role that global news media has had in introducing words into the language of popular culture. I also wonder if the pace of such news programs encourage compressed dialogues to fit into time constraints. If so, will this have an impact society’s own public discourse?

It’s interesting to see that people that are in broadcasting cannot understand that there is a satellite delay involved when speaking to you.

It’s also annoying how much people in traditional media will play down online fame.

trgoblin replied on January 26th, 2008 9:21 am:

You make a really good point. That’s why many of us are rejecting traditional media, and spending more and more time on YouTube.

The key difference that makes “Online Fame” more sustainable in the long run, is that people like Marina and others are “wired in” to the community. They get the fact that the community is important and they keep themselves involved, and keep it real. And if you pay close attention to Marina’s videos, and other YouTube stars, you’ll see that she “engages” the community, relentlessly and consistently. Pretty “f-ing” smart if you ask me!

  39. badboy on January 25th, 2008 4:36 pm

I am having trouble with the video. It keeps pausing and loading on me every 3 seconds.

It is very sad about the story of Heath Ledger.

On with better news, I think Marina did great. She has made me laugh for hours after I saw this video concerning her. Just thinking about it now, she still makes me laugh.

  40. trgoblin on January 25th, 2008 3:10 pm

I’m bummed that I missed the show, but it was nice of you to post it here. Thanks.

Aside from looking gorgeous, (I loved your outfit by the way) you “came off” very smart, despite them trying to poke fun at your accent. But what is most impressionable is how “nice” you are. You really are yourself aren’t you? That’s great and that’s why your fans adore you.

Are you going to become a regular on the show?

    Your Friend TR.

  41. veritanuda on January 24th, 2008 1:14 am

*raises eyebrow* Hehe.. Cute and very lightweight :) Cool that you got to ask some pretty clever questions , but I would expect no less from you in any environment.
5 stars for you 4 for Mike and decreasingly less for the rest of them :P

Kinda glad you put it online though.. when else would I ever get to see it. :) And regular weekly Maxim Radio slot? Why’d no one tell me :( *sniff*

  42. dcrave on January 23rd, 2008 9:06 pm

RedEye is my favorite show!!! So glad u were on it and bringing your sexy intelligence to the masses. It’s a shame the real host, Greg Gutfeld was not there though–his intros are legendary. If I had been hosting I would have quoted somthing like this, ‘Marina is so beautiful that if she were a landmass and I happened to be the ocean then I’d lap at her inlets all day long!’

Watch that show because it is hysterically funny.
How bout the word ‘handsome’ hand and some…. hmmmm..
Send me tha valentine–was married to a Russian gal and she broke my heart. Rybionak…… help me!!!!!!

RIP Heath Ledger  Money can’t buy happiness which I think is the reason I think these celebs do some crazy stuff  I really like the points you made on your interview  I cant stand Fox News but I will only watch if Marina is on
