Old saying – “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”, and I am certain that Lisa Nova means her parody as pure flattery. Based on what I have seen you both deserve to be flattered.

Maybe a good post would be to do a compare and contrast between a parody and an imitation or other things that are similar but different.

In Russia beauty and brains must run together. A Russia engineering student was just crowned :Miss World” here is a link:

But I think Marina could beat her in a beauty contest any day

    Marina,

You make a better paper airplane then me.

I just got my calendar today (it was unsigned). March has just become my favorite month. You look great with your hair done like that. March “in like a lion out like a lamb”.

I was checking out your “Wish List” on Amazon. Very interesting stuff, but alas I spent my last dollar on some calendar. But do not worry I think some of your other students will make up for me  Give Gorby a belly rub for me.

Interesting article in the Economist about the difficluties in spelling in English:

    http://www.economist.com/world/britain/displaystory.cfm?story_id=11920829

Part of the problem is based on an attempt to align words with what people thought were their Latin roots, so false etymologies are part of the reason I am such a bad speller.

Now I have an excuse
