Commenting is sexy

Hey guys… I wanted to show you a video on the coComment plugin I mentioned earlier. Watch the video then sign up here, install a plugin, and you will be able to track your conversations from all over the web in one place, no matter where they occur. It’s completely free.. PLUS, if you look to the right side of my website, there is a widget there that shows the recent conversations I have had all over the web.

You can follow me and participate in my conversations.. and perhaps back up your teacher for extra credit :-) Here is my personal page over at coComment.. so you can get an idea of where I have been conversing.

Check it out and let me know what you think :-)

Comments is a way of expressing an opinion, your video is inspiring.
Inspiration + transpiration = the neutral element of multiplication and addition. Very few people expects NO COMMENTS. A dialogue is essential for collaborating and communicating.

    So I like comments.

    Sincerely Lord Byte

  8. riddles says:

I was wondering, do you know what the origin of the word: ‘Word’ was. It is such a short collection of letters and the concept isn’t particularly easy to define, so where did it come from?

I don’t know if my experience reflects that of others. but this co-comment site is too slow. I feel like I am back in ’98 with dial-up. So, as busy, multitasking sort, I can’t wait for it to do its thing. I do leave it open though so that it eventually loads, but zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  22. origin and meaning of the word “tomboy”

  23. I’d like know what you find as the origin of “sincerely”.

  24. garimoshi says:

    dolphinbite,
yes a brolly is an umbrella. A gamp is also an umbrella, usually a big, unwieldy one. This comes from Dickens’ book, Martin Chuzzlewick. The character, Mrs Gamp carried a big umbrella, which gave rise to the term “a gamp” for such a brolly.

  25. j.p. says:

Hello Marina, there is a phrase that i have heard for some time. “Drop the dime” meaning some one reveled the truth about someone or something, usually something illegal. What is the origin of this?

  26. dolphinbite says:

I’m pretty sure “Brolly” is British slang for an umbrella, but I have no idea what a “gamp” is.

  27. danvonbose says:

I request the word, aphrodisiac, you can be a bit of one. I suspect the name originates from the goddess Aphrodite. This is also a test of the co-comment system.

  28. kipp778 says:

Looking forward for your videos

  29. unclenk says:

i would like to here the etymology of etymology from you pretty lady!
1398, from Gk. etymologia, from etymon “true sense” (neut. of etymos “true,” related to eteos “true”) + logos “word.” In classical times, of meanings; later, of histories. Latinized by Cicero as veriloquium.

    Specifically the sidebar menu.
People are all Blue Pac Men
Once you see it with gravatars,
    it makes instant sense -Zowie!

People, you gots to start using Gravatars!

Next time I watch this video I
    should pay more attention to
what Marina is pointing at – Doh!

    An issue remains regarding the
reply box. this currently only nests
one level deep as a comment group.
The result is that to keep a flow of
    comments within that group, one
    end’s up flagging one’s self.
    geeek speak! 3rd person invisible!
A possible solution might be to
embed the reply box in all new
    comments. There may be a
justified reason for it to be set
up this way, a default, perhaps?

I can see the pieces come together
but I could use a few more tips

  37. So my Firefox is back up?
    This goes beyond magic…
    Alikazaam! Poof!
    Hey Rocky! Watch me pull
a rabbit out of my … hat!

    Marina? Galina? You guys are
going to owe me BIG time to
do all this field testing for you…
I’ll take it in trade, though,
    whatcha got to trade?

  38. here is the response I got from CoComments support:

    Hi,
Have you any additional plug-ins for your IE 7 or maybe other extensions? Have you installed our extension from our home page?
The matter is that there are some plug-ins which blocks successful work with our product, for example, My IE. As far as you know, My IE is not licensed and officially supported by Microsoft, that’s why we also don’t support it. Only official plug-ins are supported. Check please, maybe you have such plug-ins in IE 7.0 which can block the work on our site?
If you haven’t, describe please steps to reproduce this bag more carefully, and the process of our extension installation.

    Thanks for feedback.
    Galina.

Thanks Galina. NOW we get the caveat!
    as in caveat emptor

I cleaned out my tracking cookies
and now Mozilla Firefox is dead.
I can read my mail but I can’t manage
it from Firefox – i think it’s busy counting
to infinity – no other esponse
    Another impotent browser that
f*cks it all up if you don’t let them
spy on you!! Communism, big time!
Be one of us or down you go…..

So, now I have Firefox, with Cocomments
(that isn’t working) and IE7 without any
    CoComments installed, but working.

The bottom line appears to be that the
best result from this product is not to
    use it at all??

Let’s all hope the product improves
(by magic?) so that it can be made
functional and useful to the users.
That’ll be the day, right?

    • aLx says:

uh, dude? I tried it on ie7, ff, and safari. every one of these works just fine. maybe it was your 512 mb ram? ;P

Be one of us or down you go…..

      that’s bush, not communism. ;)

      • Of course you mean President Bush, I understand.
My bent was more like insect communism, the hive
mind set – relentless and merciless. Too deep and
        not sexy, sorry.
Firefox is doing the job, now!
I had a parallel moment where it felt like I was the
PC guy in that Apple computer commercial…
        Knowledge is dangerous
Got Marina plugged into my favorites

  39. ok – so how does this red envelope icon work?
i click it and open a tab to a list where some
entries are now gray while some are normal.

[view blog] here will get me to the lesson/comment – ok
-just like a bookmark, RSS feed or other shortcut

[more options - untrack] self explanatory. another way
to use that test comment, and dump the track

[more options - mark as unread] so this is like email?
    I’ll have a little faith for now…

[more options - open with sidebar]
<—- so now i have a sidebar, huh?
another page opens up to a blog.
    Surprise! Comcast is STILL $19.99…

all this futziing around has left me

  43. trgoblin says:

    Marina…

The “My Comments” side bar widget is great… but it might be even better if the links opened in a new window with the target ” _blank” rather than taking us off your site. It could probably be reconfigured to do that if others agree.

And thanks for letting us follow your comments…. I’ve already seen some pretty interesting sites.

  44. aLx says:

    uh. I’m confused.

can anyone please tell me how that comment crap works? the comments are not at the actual site where the article is posted that you want to comment on. it’s on the cocomment site. but they don’t see that you posted there? and how the hell can you reply to a comment on the cocomment site? what the fuck?

  45. mloy says:

    Hi Marina!
I’ve got a word/phrase request for you: “In a pig’s eye”–I was watching an old rerun of Star Trek and Dr. McCoy used this phrase with Spock to express disbelief or otherwise declare something as ludicrous bullshit.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

  46. Ok – I got the dang thing.
I could use a lesson on how to use it
Hope it doesn’t choke my processor…

So I think it’s time you did a video on “flirtation”, since you do it so charmingly.

  54. I wasn’t sure what this was about.
Went to one cocomment site listed
where a guy was ripping on the
Bad Grammar piece. Bunch of ‘tards.
Last thing I need in this election year
is another juggling clown tryin’ to

    Ain’t nuthin’ American about it!
Ugh! stupid is as stupid does…

And that was the first (only) one
I checked out!! Do I dare risk
    another one???

OK – I think I shook that off.
Hope I didn’t stink up the place.

It appears the new camera is
    working good! It figures Marina
has a little pink laptop for the
    nightstand. Teacher’s Apple?
    Where’s Kobe? He should’ve
    been romping the bed!

Of course aLx found this first
and is mocking Bob about it- LOL
    I guess CoComment would be
useful for keeping track of his
    postings. That would be handy
    for responding quickly with links.
So many times I have to rack my
    brain to remember which lesson
    had a particular comment that
    is worth repeating.

I think I’ll wait to try the plug-in.
    Maybe see what experiences
    others report, first.

    ciao Y’all

      Stupid does.
      I like your comments
I just signed up for co comments as Marina
      suggested. This should be interesting.
They track you anyway so why not be in
      the loop.

      • I remember Oakland trying to mandate
the ebonics, or we-bonics as it is known.
those of us who dare use common sense

I was six. I knew then, as I know now,
exactly what he was talking about, and it

by the media of the time (Huntley-Brinkley)
.What NK meant has come to pass. America
has been eaten alive from within by every
subversive element we feared from the

Peace isn’t won until an enemy is unable
to wage war anymore, and begs it to stop.
Fools in this country don’t get it. Reagan
did get it. He took a lot of crap from the
nay-sayers, and proved them all wrong.
Anyway, there are other sites better suited
for these discussions. This is not the place.
