Nice Article

I just found this nice article written by a woman who says that my show has helped her get her son interested in etymology! I think that’s great! And this woman really put a lot of thought into what she wrote… PLUS she can be found hanging out in the comments section of HotForWords…. so be sure to thank her for the wonderful article!

    I was just trying to write as well as possible about someone who I think deserves plenty of attention. I’ve been a fan of Marina since her early days on YouTube and elsewhere. I hope she continues to get more attention and is a role model to many. Also, people are learning that philology can be interesting :smile:

    In one of the videos, Marina was carrying a bag with the Chanel logo.
    So that’s probably a good start for the brand of perfume.

    I saw your article because “anuddermale” posted a link. Nice to see a womans percpective & the comments of some of the women to your article. Found Kay Whittenhauer’s comments amusing, particularily

    OK- I showed my son. He thought it was boring. (I think I enjoyed it more than he did.)
    I’m 50yrs old & felt a little strange hanging around the website & all, but I have learned lots & I think I’ve written more in my comments in the last few months than have written in the rest of my life. I show folks at work & customers that will look, the videos that interest me & funny… the reactions of the older guys & young guys differ so much. Marina scares my daughter a little too :lol: Reading your article (and the comments)made my day as well. Thanks

    BillyB I could not have said it any better myself. I am 54 and It seems kind of strange like you said hanging around a site where the teacher is young enough to be our daughter. But we have learned alot even at our age. You can teach an old dog a new trick. :smile: Mike

    Yes, one word lover at a time or one lover of beautiful ambassadors for language. She has already inspired women I know who believe that one has to pretend to be dumb if they are beautiful. Marina proves that this is not true. One can be charming, beautiful and smart too.
