Website is Supercharged with a little N2O!
Hey everyone! My website has moved to a new server that is a Twin Turbocharged, Supercharged, Nitrous Oxide… ized (??) machine…. with a JET ENGINE in it as well!! So… what that means, is that the site should be faster now.. and should be able to handle the increased traffic with ease!

So… let me know how it’s doing.. and if you encounter anything that is slow or needs to be fixed. I have a feeling that will all those turbo-chargers, superchargers and that nitrous.. we might have to tweak a few things here and there before we are perfect!

But at the momment (right now) http://www.gravatar.com slows down site the most. Each avatar takes around 3sec to load.
In general website is fast, however it is not yeat on premium speed. Some images takes around 1s to load. Looks like website handels single request nicely – css, js etc loads extremly fast – however as soon as images are starting to load, even small thumbs can take upp to 1-2 secons to load.
When it comes to cocomment widget it is best to load it with javascript and document.write – then it will start loading only when the rest of the page is done loading. Thats how banners/ad’s are loaded on the most websites.

When logged in to your home page, if I select ‘word/ lessons’ in top left corner followed by any one of the listed lessons, most of the time I am unable to leave any comments, also the ‘log in’ icon shows in the top right (but have already logged in!), so kinda go round in circles. After a few attempts, all seems well. Once comments are enabled and after pressing play on a video, it starts then after a short while stops, so having to press play again.

I occasionally have that issue also. When you come across that issue, just clear your browser cache, then reload the page.

Click on the HELP menu up above, then scroll down to the paragraph about cute pictures. Everything will be explained there.

Co-comments is really getting blogged down today. Their pings are at about 364ms. When HFW is pinging at 108ms. As I write this coco still has not loaded.
I disabled the cocomment widget temporarily as it was preventing the whole site from loading.. hopefully that fixes it for the time being.

I had used my ad blocker program to lock it out anyways and notice 2 times a speed improvement. In just a quick scan of their forums they have many problems they are addressing right now. Even their website has been timing out on my end.
I could just imagine walking around L.A and seeing some sexy blonde Russian girl in that car. Real Talk.

Oxygen has six electrons in the outer shell; nitrogen has five. lostforwords, couldn’t afford that one.. so I just slapped a jet engine on a VW Bug! My car is not as fancy, but can you roast marshmallows whiloe cruising the Bugatti? I think not! I told you my car was better!

You are such a girl, Nitrous dioxide? Laughing gas..are you trying to make us laugh? Any good car guy will tell you , Torque is what it takes to pull a big load. N2O is for Mail parking lot racers. Without a blower or turbo charger, N2O is a waste of money.

Site seems fast. I did some ping tests and a trace route. Im pinging you at about 100ms which is perfect. I only get about 17 hops to your server in FL. Gravitar and Coco are the ones lagging now and have always been.

Looks like the “Lessons” menu link above has been changed.
That used to be a two link menu, with one of the links going to a page of recent embedded videos. Either way is fine, and I guess this new way removes one page you don’t have to worry about editing.

Lucky you. I don’t even own a car as of last year. Im car-less now.
Why? I don’t have a boat big enough to carry it aboard when I travel. I just rent a Lincoln town car with driver or take the bus/street car. Its cheaper than owning a car for sure.
