Sometimes, though, I DO not save gas. Today, I drove 95 miles round trip to Mt. Charleston so that I could escape the 100+ F heat in the Las Vegas Valley by hiking the Bristlecone Trail, which is a 6.1-mile loop trail between 8700 and 9400 feet altitude. I figured it would be 75 F or 80 F up there. And sunny! Boy, was I wrong! It began to get windy. The wind brought in a cold chill from the black clouds that were piggybacking the Spring Mountain peaks. Then it began to rain. Then it began to hail. And thunder! I was already a couple of miles into the trail, and standing under ponderosa pines with lightning possibly afoot didn’t seem wise. So I bucked up and walked and walked, the raindrops smearing my vision through the pair of glasses i wear, the hailstones bouncing like popcorn off my head. I got drenched, and then I got even wetter… But I finished the trail in just 2 hours and 20 minutes. Why did I tell this story? Oh, yeah. I used about 5 gallons of gas so that I could fight off rain, wind, hail, and chill. Now I’m back in my little humble abode. And it’s hot and sunny. I miss those wonderful little hikes. I’m off to the gas station…..

- There are too many guys on this site. Marina is trying to reel in some gals by creating “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants.”
- I read an article that stated that not only does the Northwest Passage open up a couple of months every year now, but that in the near future, nearer than previously thought possible, the Arctic Ocean will be ice-free. As for me, I’m not worried about global warming. it’s already 115 F in Las Vegas, so I say, “Bring it on!”
- I’m trying to be a lot less feisty. That saves gas.

Capman911, my original idea was to continue with requesting words within the conversation threads, but to flag word requests with a special emoticon. Your idea of an emoticon to click on for bold or underline would be along those lines. PedanticKarl also proposed the use of bold. However, I think sometimes people want to use use bold and underline for other purposes. I am still of the opinion that a special emoticon of some kind that has no other logical purpose would work best. Maybe an emoticon that is not yellow (right now, only Mr. Green stands out from the crowd). On the other hand, an emoticon, however visible to the eye, may not be searchable. My thought is that as the library of words/phrases/games grows, it will become more and more difficult for Marina to scan all the posts for word requests. Maybe someone more technically skilled and more creative than myself will come up with an idea to facilitate Marina’s arduous task of word request tracking. - SOS Game Answer
