Charlie is so cool like
I am really impressed with this kid out of the UK.. charlieissocoollike. He’s the second most subscribed YouTube person in the UK after my friend panacea81 who does makeup. (I say friend because Panacea and I have emailed each other a couple times
)
Anyway… check Charlie out.. I thoroughly enjoy his stuff.

Damn! That’s better than 99% of the crap that’s on radio anywhere in the world. Kudo’s to Charlie.
Among my favorite episodes is in the second series, where they time traveled to a space ship in 5000 A.D. that led through a time portal to 17th century Versailles (Did I spell that correctly? I’m not good with French). It will be about a year from now before they air the third series over here in the U.S.
jaaaaaaa
Marina I don’t know why you did your first video, if you were just bored, a friend suggested it, or you had a vision or something. I really enjoy finding people that are willing to put their persona out there, whether they expect any thing in return or not. Charlie is cool, thanks for pointing out his channel.
Here’s my favorite origional song, “Why I Shouldn’t Have Let You In ” complete with the best little kazoo solo.
You are still my favorite youtube personality Marina. Cheers
Cool ukulele song.. thanks for that!
As for why I made my first video? Someone pointed out YouTube to me in December of 2006, in fact I have the first email and it says:
“Check out http://www.youtube.com”
And that’s it.. that’s all it said!
From that point I knew exactly what I was doing… that it would take time and a lot of hard word, with no financial rewards whatsoever for some time to come… but someone once told me that if you put your mind to something for JUST ONE YEAR… BUT A WHOLE YEAR… you can achieve success… so I set that one year goal.. and I can honestly say that that bit of advice turned out to be 100% accurate.
cool, gonna remember that 1 year thing , i have one goal but i still haven’t had time to realy work on it, nore will I have in the near future, maybe in 5 years orso i duno.
but what drove you to being succesfull on youtube? fame? or to educate others or a bit of both?
charlieissocoolike…Charlie is…like…so cool! Now that is what I call TALENT! Keep up the good work, Charlie!
As a Doctor Who fan myself, I enjoyed that clip very much. The best thing about the song “Blink” is that the lyrics did describe the events that occurred in the actual doctor who episode.
Great find Marina
*Might have to look for my Doctor Who - Series 3 Box Set*

You can’t go wrong with the Super Mario T-Shirt
Great work. He reminds me quite a bit of myself as a teen rocker struggling to get a foothold in the local music scene. That was a few years back, of course… the psychedelic music era was blossoming across much of the USA. I had my heart set on doing what was then known as “underground” music because of its “subvert the dominant paradigm” messages during the Vietnam war. But unfortunately, in my town, the best way to get work was either to play in a polka band (weddings, parties, etc.), be an organist with a knowledge of hymns, or to know all the old show tunes and play Holiday Inn lounges and church socials and such…not a lot of room for rock-n-roll there. High school dances and talent shows were about it.
Was it a little like this?
Pre-digital, pre-synthesizer days…

pennsyltucky9, things have definitely changed! This kid has been watched over 8 million times! So, I think the Internet really allows true talent to be discovered. It still takes hard work and an idea of where you are taking everything.. but I feel that it really allows talented people to be seen as never before!
talent like myself..
As ever, your observations are right on the money, dear teacher. No need to cry over spilt milk and time wasted, though. Things were different then.
The biggest show I ever played was an outdoor festival in Quebec with a crowd of about 4 or 5,000 people. They didn’t know my name because I wasn’t on the bill! I was called to the stage by my friend who needed someone to entertain the crowd while the sound crew worked out a technical problem they were having with the monitor speakers. I played four songs before a thunderstorm hit, scattering everyone like ninepins. After the storm passed, I was able to enjoy my short burst of local fame for the evening, then it was all over.
Blink

nice progressions, nice bridges,
nice acoustic piece…
hope he ramps it up and goes
electric with that -
I was playing electric along
to him but I kept reverting back
to this song
