Great Interview. I too am a Dostoevsky fan. The Brothers Karamazov is a great work and I love the character Alyosha.

Btw, you are great on O'Reilly as well - and he's not as bad a guy as people want him to be - he's just highly opinionated. Of course, even those who don't like opinionated people - are themselves highly opinionated about that!

All the best!

Marina, we love you out here!!!

I hope you don't mind, but I am using your videos to enrich the vocabulary of my two daughters, aged 12 and 14. It is also a way to introduce them to the source materials, vis-a-vis: dictionaries, thesaurus, and other basic research tools.

Not only are these clips educational, but they are funny and highly entertaining. You make the study of words, their origins, and history fun and highly involving, whether its for Daddy or the girls!! They look up to you, and I am personally grateful for that.

All that, and you are genuinely in the pantheon of the world's most beautiful women [not meant to be cloying]. You are taking the negative connotation out of being an intelligent woman, and I very much want my girls to learn that lesson in life. A genius-level mind and as breathtakingly beautiful as Helen-of-Troy. Now that's what I call a Femme-fatale!

Please keep teaching in this manner, Marina. You are reaching more people's minds and improving their lives than you can possibly imagine.

Sincerely, and in admiration always,
Stephen

Marina added a touch of class to O'Reilly, but I wouldn't call him a creepy person unless you are a pinhead.

The only time I have ever been called a nerd was way back in the 4th grade. And I got called 'dork' a number of times throughout junior high. But I don't ever recall being called a geek. I grew up getting bullied and picked on a lot. And it didn't get easier for me to make friends, since my step-dad had a career in the navy, and we had to move around alot, every few years. So I didn't have time to make any friends. I had to constantly start all over, and I pretty much became a loner and a social outcast. So in other words I grew up not liking a lot of people and became naturally disconnected from others.
