Hi Marina,

Could you explain why [capitulate] means to surrender but [recapitulate] means to review by a brief summary? The two words seem to have the same root but have two very different meanings….I’m confused!

Hi Marina,
I would like to know the origin of the word/phrase [hood winked]. I was recently reading Cato’s Letters (from 1720) and was surprised it was being used well over two hundred years ago.
