Hi Marina: I think I understand where the word Shylock came from in refering to mob money lenders. Possibly from the Merchant of Venice. The lender’s name was Shylock, but where did the expression ” VIG ” come from. It is used to explain the interest charged by the Shylocks. Thanks, - Help
