  It is one worth looking into. It won ALL of the major awards for literature. The Sledge is in there and also his brother, Bob, who fought in Europe.

  I read military history as a hobby/obsession, and one of the best books I ever read was “the Good War” by Studs Terkel. The author went around the world interviewing thousands about there part in the war. The worst stories of anyone not in a Concentration Camp were those of Soviet citizens during the war. Especially Stalingrad and Leningrad. Horrible Any Russian born after ‘The Great War’ is going to have a different view than any who lived through that hell. JMHO
