Site Upgraded
Hey everyone.. I just upgraded the website… and it was a MAJOR upgrade!
I need you all to let me know if you encounter any problems as I am not sure if all of my plugins work with this new system.. so please write all the issues here on this post!

After everything got sorted out (has it?), I like the changes. The gravatars in recent comments section is pretty cool. That section seems to be up to speed, now. Thst messed me up earlier on, especially when lots of people were posting quickly (somebody had trouble finding replies). Is the I like section new, or has somebody not been paying attention? The greasing and lubrication of the suspension system, the drive train and other general parts of a vehicle. A total lube job should be performed professionally once or twice a year and can easily be done when a vehicle’s oil is changed.

updatedAlright. The background faded as I assume is intended, and a edit window popped up. Problem was it said “Saving…” and continued to say “Saving…” without any notification that the process was complete — which it obviously was since my initial post now has bold/itallic/strike commands in it.
I probably should add I am running Safari 3.2.1 on Macintosh OS X 10.4.11 — that could be why.
Why is everyone refreshing all over the place? When you see the “Saving…” message, just click the browser Back button. You can see the modified text and confirm that the edit “took.” It’s not as nice as if it worked like we all expect it to, but it certainly gets the job done.
Wait, I’m hearing you can edit comments posted. Is that true, by fixing type-Os and stuff? And if so, how do you do that?
For five minutes after submitting a post, you may use the Click to Edit button that appears above the text of the post. Graphic smilies are not available, but you can type the text equivalent, e.g. “:smile:” or “:grin:” if you leave a space on either side of it. At least for the time being, after “Saving…” appears, click your browser’s Back button to return to the blog. (This may change later.)
Have you heard when someone says ‘flash in the pan’ or ‘fly by

Flash in the pan is from the pre-flashbulb days of photography. Flash powder was spread along the length of a 1 or 2-ft.-long tray (the pan) that was held up by the photographer. Just after opening the lens, he would ignite the powder to get enough light to make a short exposure and then close the lens. Anything said to be a flash in the pan is possibly of great fame or success, but only lasts for a very short time. Poof!

Will the iTunes feed start working again?
According to iTunes, it hasn’t been updated since 11/22, and before that is 8/23. 
FYI
If I try to logout VIA the Logout >> link above the comment box next to my screenname, it takes me to a page that says “You are attempting to logout of HotForWords” “Please try again.”
But, if I logout through the top right of the site, it logs me out immediately.

I am using Mozzila Firefox under GNU/Linux (kubuntu if it cares), and the screen does not match as it would be, maybe by the resolution that i am using. If you want, i can send you screenshots of my screen. And sorry for my english, i am not a native speaker

I use Linux ( Novell ) and Firefox works ok for me.
The only problems I have are caused by the wrong text size.
Try reducing the size of your text in Firefox browser.
i.e View -> Text Size -> Decrease
The whole edit thing doesn’t seem to be working for me, It just says SAVING… and doesn’t continue.
I had to refresh the page… then my edit showed up, after a longer than usual wait.

It looks like Marina under the car, tweaking the chassis… maybe she feels the website pulling to the right, after yet another brilliant, Billy O’ appearance… simple fix though. Over-looked some flatness in the right front tyre, not enough “Hot” air. (kinda’ bad sarcasm, i’ll work on it).
Tried a couple of old vids out & the faggot one stopped 1/2 way, but that may be my old work computer’s fault. (was showing a friend how the lessons used to look).

I went to edit that last comment and I had to cancel to move on to the next comment.
Marina I cannot get past the edit save feature. When I edit my post the save button want let me go any further. It just hangs and ajax edit is visible at the top of the comment box.

I am able to hit f5 and get out. Or I can hit the red x in the upper right of the comment box. The one time I had a problem was when I left it on long enough for the screensaver to kick on, then it froze up the whole browser. I had to go to task mgr, but I do not know why I would ever leave a comment box open for five minutes.
I tried to Edit again and I got a
“You do not have permission to edit this comment” error.
That will come on if your time has expired. If you had refreshed the page, your edit option would not have been there.
That’s because your five minute window to edit expired.
Or you can’t edit after a reply has been made, which make sense

Make changes hit [save] and while it appears to be hung hit [refresh]…

In the recent comments, our gravatars show up now. For a minute or so, your gravatar was about two inches square. I thought that was pretty cool. The names did get outta whack, though. Maybe that is why she changed it. (I still thought it was pretty cool)

I went to the Admin tab to Tools and d/l Gears. After I restarted my browser, I tried to edit. I hit save, and it still froze. Instead of f5ing, I hit cancel in the edit box, and the box went away. When I refreshed the page, my edit had stuck. I guess I just will not edit. I never liked it anyway. {wishing we had a raspberry smiley }
yes, it works the same for me, at least in IE7…”saving” twirls & twirls but never finishes…canceling and reloading the page shows the edit had posted…
I feel better knowing it is not just me. Che is trying now. We will see if it works for him. I do not know how M can fix it, though, if she cannot see the problem. She says the edit works fine for her.

Wow! What a change on the backend side of things. There are two menu plugins I can get rid of that where doing basically the same thing that the new update does.

So is the problem on my end? That last time I tried to edit, I let it run until my screensaver came on (5 min). I still had the edit screen, but this time it stuck for good. I had to go to task mgr and end HFW and start IE all over again. What am I doing wrong?

I mentioned this in a response to your announcement of the update on the “State of the Art” page, but when I log in, I’m taken to the WordPress profile options page instead of the homepage for hotforwords.
I just logged out and back in. It did the same to me. I don’t know if that is broke or that is how M wants it. Hmm…

Well, I think most of us are comfortable with how our profiles are, and if not we’ll go ahead and change them. When I logged in just now it brought me to the WordPress dashboard thing, which I also didn’t really find helpful.
I guess it just makes more sense to me to log in straight to the HFW homepage: that’s what we’re most interested and eager to get in to. Fellow students: post here giving your opinion on this matter so Marina can get a sense of how we as a collective class think the log in thing should work.
Why would anyone want to update their profile. Its not like anyone can see it.
Why, to add your city and state to the nickname field, update and then select the new nickname and update again. That way everyone will know your location — not good enough to leave a dead fish on your porch, but close enough for nuclear weapons of the hydrogenish variety.
OK. I made it go to the profile the first time your register… all other times it takes you to where ever you are when logging in.
