No matter what the origin of the word, shopping is still hell. I think I can relate more to the prison origin.

I heard that some little software company lives there. I lived in Vancouver, WA in '56, and have been to Seattle and Spokane on short business trips in the '80s, but that's it.

I like shopping, and will be doing just a bit more later tonight. Because during a phone conversation earlier today I said,
"She is coming too?"
I am always the last to know these things.

Are you using all 90% of the machines in the world? Of course not. :-)
That number is meaningless. "95% of written..." thats no longer correct anymore. It's hovering around 87% now and slowly dropping. Recently Windows Vista influenced that number.
Your right that MS is not going away tomorrow. I do see their market share decreasing at a rapid rate.
Their is noting in my last statement saying that I'm hating MS. I have windows installed on one of my hard drives. I don't use any A/V on that drive either. With that said its good that you run an A/V software on you computer. I would if it was my primary OS.
"You run the one that is home to the attackers, right?" All OSes are home to attackers. ;-)

Can I take a crack at this? My dad used to own 2 horses. I remember him using the term. I think the saying means, don't further examine a horse mouth to determine its value. You can look at a horses teeth to discover it's approximate age.

Sad thing about values of the masses today is people grade you by how much money you spend on them.

Well, Cap'n Jack, I hear you, and to some extent I agree. Windows is the most targeted system on the planet, and it has its share of problems, there's no disputing that. And I'll even accept that it may be a bit crazy to run a system with it, Crazy like a fox, that is. I find it far more intelligent than crazy to run the OS that runs on 90% of the world's machines, the OS that 95% of written programs and games, (that are written for computers, vice consoles) are compatible with, or outright written for. Linux servers are even losing ground to MS servers, to the point that they are in the minority, now. So I don't see the pendulam swinging away from MS any time soon. As you see, I do dispute your implication that someday, Linux, or MacOS,. or any other OS will take over the world market. MS, love it nor not, is here to stay, and no amount of hating will change that.
So, the math goes like this. it's 5% crazy to run Windows, and 95% intelligent. Works for me, to not be left behind.
That said, since I do run windows, I also run A/V software (re:targeted system) as any intelligent person will. That you don't, I so proud of you, but then, you don't run the OS that's targeted, do you? You run the one that is home to the attackers, right?
