OK I gotta fess up. I don’t learn foreign languages; I collect foreign phrases the way other people collect stamps, then trot them out like I would a stamp collection to impress people.

I really only speak English, Spanish, and some Welsh. Oh, and read a little Russian, Bulgarian, Japanese, and French. Maybe a touch of Serbian and Greek. Plus of course whatever words in Portuguese, Romanian, and Italian that have Spanish cognates.

That said, the phrase is obviously Latin; the two “v’s” are the old way of writing “u”. When I get off work I’ll try looking up each word individually. But for now, something about “The best life” and “friends” is all I can make out.
