I’m sure it’s been said, but I’m too lazy to read through all the replies. On what side of the helmet is the Steelers’ logo? The logo is on the outside of the helmet. Thank you.
Please note that I am interested in BOTH meanings. Not just the spousal meaning, but also the one which defines [ husband ] as “to be thrifty and prudent”.
My sweet Marina, The logo is on the right hand side of the helmet. They continuted wearing just one logo because they won that first game with the one logo. The work I hear is that they ordered the stickers from a local steel company and they told them they had 40 players so the steel company sent 40 stickers, not 80!
I don’t understand what she says at 00:31. It sounds like “F N won….” Can anyone help me out?
I had to delay this as my cat stepped on the volume button on the keyboard (which I never use), muting a volume setting buried deep in Windows. I just found it this morning. So I guess you could say my cat ate my homework.

roses in the background. I’d give ‘em an intimate nuzzle with my nose if I didn’t think I’d get all thorny.
The Steelers have the best looking football helmet. Having the logo on just the right side was inspired. The Redskins have the 2nd best looking helmet (excellent logo). The Dolphins have the 3rd best (due more to their color scheme). The Raiders have the 4th best looking helmet (Their choice of Silver & Black is surprisingly sharp looking yet very aggressive. And the shape and size of their logo works well.) At the other end of the scale, The Atlanta Falcons have the worst uniform, followed closely by the Seattle Seahawks. The Denver Broncos get a solid third place, and in 4th, a tie between the Ravens and Jaguars.
I don’t know what you saw… I got a black page with some links that didn’t look safe to click on.
Who is the “They” in You Tube? You Tube should be “You”, not “They”…
Anyways I’m glad you asked me, as if I should be an authority on what youtube allows
When I clicked on it earlier it had a bare chested big chested woman in the picture section at the upper left. Ask CK he saw them. I ask you as you have always offered help and assistance in the past. I always kinda thought of you as a mentor, but I guess I could ask RRR to come back and answer my questions. Maybe it should be called They Tube since they always seem to screw things up on They Tube.
If you visit Pittsburgh, you’ll find it’s actually pronounced “Stillers.” This is either because they tend to slow their opponents down or because of their average velocity relative to stationary objects. For further reference, see comment 11 below.
[tardy]
Hi Marina! We would like to know about the word [tardy]. We know it means being late, as in being behind scedule. But is it somehow related to the word [retard], which means to hold back or to set back?
Congratulations Marina!!!
You now have 10,094,261 You Tube Channel Views.
I’ll drink a Pepsi to that without touching it.. Cheers! http://www.youtube.com/hotforwords

very rare to have one logo on the helmet. The difference between the steelers and the pirates are that the steelers are great especially 2 SB within 4 years and the pirates flat out suck. Just about 16 consecutive losing seasons-pitiful
Marina looks amazing in red. And the pig tails are too cute. Takes years off her.
Wait? What? Pigtails? They don’t look like pigtails. Pigtails are curly and pink.
Marina, could you please explain the origin of “pigtails” (as you did the Peakaboo hairstyle). And while we’re on the matter of pigs and superbowl, why do they call the football a pigskin? Is that what it’s made out of? or is it bc people used to play football in the mud for fun, like pigs.
It’s a clicker because the first wireless control (the Zenith Space Commander) was invented in the days before the transistor. It would not do to have a vacuum tube remote that had (and consumed in short order) five pounds of batteries, so a non-electronic solution was critical. They used several short aluminum rods (of different lengths, one for each function) that were struck mechanically by hammers, much like a piano. These were tuned in the ultrasonic range and the circuits in the TV detected the incoming frequency received by a microphone and activated the appropriate function (tuning, volume, etc.). As the sounds of the rods were above human hearing, only the click of the hammer could be heard, hence the nickname.
Factoid: Europeans felt it was ridiculous to get up to adjust a TV set every so often and so bought most sets with a remote (either wireless or corded remote). Most Americans, thinking it was an unnecessary luxury, would not pay the extra money, and so had to walk to the TV many times in the course of an evening. I always thought these opposing mindsets interesting.
Of course, the lack of excercise finally killed off the Europeans, the lands of which were repopulated by Mongols who used TV set cabinets as feed troughs for their beloved horses. It’s true, I tell you.
Hello mrcool1,
Marina has not done the origin of Tube as such, but talked about “Boob Tube” in the Booby video which if you haven’t seen it, you will want to review. It’s an awesome video lesson.
The part about the Boob Tube starts at 2:58.
I could have gotten you there with a quick link, but I didn’t want you to miss the whole lesson. Booby with Boob Tube Lesson
The original boxy TV sets and PC monitors utilized for their displays a large vacuum tube called a cathode ray tube from which TV gets its “the tube” name. (This has now been largely replaced by the flat liquid crystal displays. It will be interesting to see how long it will take for the term “the tube” to die off. Perhaps it never will if you take into account that almost none of the population that uses that term even knows about the CRT, so why should it die off? It will live on due in sheer ignorance. An example of this is the land-line telephone “receiver;” the last phones to have only a receiver — but no transmitter — in the handset were from the 1920’s, yet people still speak of hanging up the receiver.)
As to why a tube is called a tube, it is from the cylindrical shape of the glass envelope of the device. In the U.K., tubes were named not after their shape, but after how they worked, namely valves. So, logically, their displays should be named cathode ray valves, but, no, they’re tubes, because the CRT came before tubes had a valve-like function. The CRT was invented in 1897 and the first tubes that acted like valves came along a decade later. The 1897 model could only light up a spot, because the tubes/valves that could scan the beam and control its intensity to paint pictures weren’t in existance. It was truly an invention before its time.
I remember seeing a black-painted, wooden CRT demo set for teaching (the tube was about 5″ in diameter) in my high school chemistry lab classroom (which was never used for chemistry in high school as far as I know). It was one of several such devices that collected dust, but was never touched. There was a high-school physics class, but we did simple crap (for simple studants, I guess) and the subject of electricty, much less electronics, was never broached. There sat a fun and interesting gadget for students to play with and no one used it in the four years I was there. I imagine the damned thing is still sitting there to this day as its technology fades into obsolescence. Or maybe it’s been replaced by a LCD demo set that will never be used. Oh, well, most of us become insurance salesmen, septic tank pumpers and salad preparers, all calling television “the tube”, don’t we?
I wonder if there iw a way to tell WordPress globally to knock off the bold in blockquotes.
If not all in uppercase, I don’t think anyone will accuse you of shouting. It’s more like you are pushing the rubber stamp waayyy too hard into the stamp pad.
I like the new comment counter thingy. It will help us bash each other more productively. WTF was cap talking about in #24? I think he got downright loopy.
i would like to request this word because it makes me think,
the word is [underscore]. If you will understand the word, “it is under the score” but the sign is this “_” and its not under the score.. hope u’ll make a video of it ms. marina thanks.
im sorry for the wrong grammar if there is, im not that good in speaking in english. thanks again ms marina..
Well, Number 34, instead of retiring your jersey, we have decided to retire you to Jersey. You will be whacked and unceremoniously dumped into a shallow grave in the Meadowlands by two members of the Soprano crew. When finished covering you, they will both drink a beer and burp as loud as they can.
I would have to say after reviewing every one else’s comment that it is on the right side of the helmet adjacent to the right side of the head where the right ear is, above the right shoulder and along the right quadrant of the upper right torso on the right side of the body inline with the right leg and right foot. Is that answer right if not I will write it again.
You may be right but there is at least one choice left. If you rule out inside and require outside beside the front side and backside but only consider the outside left side and right side then when you take the right side the only side that remains is the left side which is the wrong side if the right side is the right side and the right side is the right side by definition. So, I side with you on this one. I’m a little beside myself because I don’t want to steel your answer and get on your bad side.
But, from a minimalist approach, the unadorned side would be the left side, which would make the left side the right side, therefore, the right side, by default, would be the left side, unless, of course, one factors in fredjr’s concept of the outside being the right side, then the inside would be the left side, therefore, the logo is, once again, on the right side, but it is on the right side of the wrong side (or the left side.) In essence, no matter the context in which the logo is viewed, the logo is invariably on the left side, thereby proving that everyone else is wrong, and I, alone, am right, except that I am quite liberal, so I am on the right of the left, or on the right with the left. Either way, I, alone, am right.
I wonder if it is anything like Antivirus 2008 or 2009. These come from a low-life in Madrid. Either they start a fake antivirus scan and ask for you to get a subscription to their AV software, or they cause periodic popups of full-screen advertising. I finally found that the free Superantispyware killed it.
Have you done a whois lookup on their Website to see who it is?
Did anybody figure out what that is called… you know the blowing a raspberry thing that she does. The thing that George Carlin (incorrectly, I believe) reffered to as a “Bilabial Fricative”.
I found something on it & I thinks what she is doing is called a “linguolabial trill”… is cute whan she does it though.
During 1943 there was a team called the Steagles. It was formed from the Pittsburgh Steelers and from the Philadelphia Eagles. Then after that in 1944 came the last lesson that Marina just gave. I did some extra home work as I was a little doubtful about the time line on Marina’s last lesson on the date being right. But as usual our Teacher is very correct and right on target with her dates. That’s why she is the teach.
Hey pal, no I didn’t get that far with checking the names of other combined teams. Thanks for the info and I hope everything is going great with you. I don’t know if I could play for a team with a name like the Jills, but if the pay is good enough I’ll play with for the Suzans.
Dear совершенная Марина Орлова, Nice of you to post a video so early, today. I hope you get many responses.
I’m very impressed that you learned about the “origins” and histories of both football teams that will compete in the Superbowl, tommorrow. What a good researcher you are!
The Steelers wear their logos on the right side of their helmet, as they wear them.
I’ll watch the game tomorrow, so do you plan to post another video during the Superbowl game? I might not respond very quickly, then! I plan to enjoy some nice food and beverages during the game.
I hope you enjoy watching the game, too! Even the TV commercials will be very entertaining, and Bruce Springsteen is going to perform new music during halftime. I think it’ll be a great time!

Are those darts with yellow flights (flights aka feathers or fletching — the back end of a dart) stuck in your heart, Marina? Has Cupid been successful?
Hello, I would like to request the word [ocarina] as I dont think enough people know about it and it is not a kids toy but a professional musical insturment, just take a look at kissing88’s youtube posts. (Not mine I’m an ocarina newbie)
Hello Dave, nice rendition of “Edelweiss”. (Check the spelling)
I liked your playing. Very interesting instrument.
I’m not familiar with the instrument as such, other than through the electronic pianos where the ocarina seems to be a popular instrument.
The ocarina sound is popular on synths but if you watch ITGas0eHE5I on youtube “triple ocarina” you’ll see what they can really do. The majority of the world has no idea that they are a real honest orchestra quality instrument, I hope to help gain it some long missing attention.
The lesson was fine – but couldn’t help noticing the dozen Red Roses by the bed.
Leave it to Gorby to make Mama happy!

I’m sure it’s been said, but I’m too lazy to read through all the replies. On what side of the helmet is the Steelers’ logo? The logo is on the outside of the helmet. Thank you.
My dear!! The Pittsburgh Steelers are in Pittsburgh not Philadelphia. The major industry in Pittsburgh in the 1940’s was STEEL. Go Steeler Nation !

Look, next year’s logo will be on the front.
Hey Billy how does YT allow this on their channel? I don’t mind but I thought they were kind of strict about nudity.
http://www.youtube.com/user/rafaelajaracatia
I found this on Marina’s YT site in the comments section.
She’s not entirely nude. In fact, she has a lot of clothes on.
Too much, in fact.
Them’s some big tatas
The reason they don’t object is that they are not real and they are obviously so. It’s like having a drawing of two Teacher ’s Assistants.

Does everyone agree that Marina’s lucky number is number 5?
Could it be that the Steelers only have the logo on one side of their helmets because they run rings round all the other teams?
Today the Cardinal defence will knock the logo to the other side of the Steeler’s helmets

oh, my videos isnt doing well at all..
C’mon, James. You’ve got to set an example here. Either it’s “video” or it’s “aren’t,” but not “videos isn’t.”
I can’t decide whether you’ve been smoking something or not smoking something.
What i mean was. My video isn’t doing well. I need comments and rating and views from people like you!
ARRRRGGGHH What I meant was..
Oh god whats up with me (i’m not going to edit that because it is funny.)
You Tube has the SoBe in 3D/HD commercial put your special glasses on.
I wanted to make a 3d vid a while ago but I couldnt find a decnt way of doing it
You need a special camera.
I thought you needed two cameras.
Word Request [Piggy as in Piggy Bank]
You gotta be kidding.
It’s not the obvious.
I see that the video above can now be Twittered and Digg’d.
The preset Twitter text says; “Reading”. I changed mine to “Watching”.
If you want a word with lots of history behind it… go for [mausoleum]
How about the Pittsburg Pussy’s. And oh by the way, where did the word PUSSY, come from.
Wondering where [Amorous] came from

Hi, Marina!
How about:
[chimera]?
Thanks.
Always.
Mt. Redoubt, a volcano west of Anchorage, is about to erupt. So here’s my word request [redoubt].
How far west? I hope it doesn’t wipe out the FLR-9 antenna at Elmendorf. I think it’s the only one left.
The mountain is about 100 miles west. Anchorage will just get a dusting of ash, which will be a nuisance, shut down air traffic for a few days, but no threat.

Pigtail has been done Click here to view Pigtail lesson
Yes footballs are made from ‘Pigskin’ the same stuff that gives us pork rinds.
But a football tastes better.
While we’re on sports teams, how about [Yankee] for a word request (the word, not just the team name).
It’s on the OUTSIDE
Sooo happy to see the return of the Intelligence Is Sexy logo-Thank you!
This was another great lesson. Thank you Marina.
The logo is on the left side of their helmets.
They put it on the opposite side of the side that doesn’t have the logo on it.

For the longest time I wondered what monetary unit Englishmen were talking about until I finally realized they meant pounds.
I was just wondering…I would like to know the origin of [tube] and why people call a TV “the tube”.

Hmm… that makes me feel old. Next thing, someone will ask why a remote is called a “clicker.” Mortality is among us.
Hard to hide a tube in a flat screen TV.
It’s a clicker because the first wireless control (the Zenith Space Commander) was invented in the days before the transistor. It would not do to have a vacuum tube remote that had (and consumed in short order) five pounds of batteries, so a non-electronic solution was critical. Ok since you bashed me on # 37, hehe let me tell you where your tongue can go.
@ Che you lost a good opportunity to razz BB.
Dear HotForWords,
The Logo is on the Right Side. I don’t watch football, it’s just a guess. On the Right Side if you are wearing the helmet.
I even actually thought they were called the “Stealers” until today. And that even isn’t a word. Thanks Teach.
Your Student,

The problem seem to have corrected itself.
I did have issues before so had to restore this computer.
Got hijack via a bad link in Twitter I suspect.
I would have to say after reviewing every one else’s comment that it is on the right side of the helmet adjacent to the right side of the head where the right ear is, above the right shoulder and along the right quadrant of the upper right torso on the right side of the body inline with the right leg and right foot. Phew! Glad I could get that off my chest.
It doesn’t really matter as long as they keep the fur side on the inside. Those logos don’t stick worth a damn to fur.
All kinds of stuff happen while I was cleaning up this computer.

Yes, I looked it up, it’s gone for now.
It’s quite popular
Every time I watch that ending where Marina goes, pppfrrtt, my monitor gets sprayed, Which one of us is doing that?
Oh I thought my cat sneezed on my monitor.
you should see her poor camera!
Outakes, etc, etc…
I will send you a [squeegee] for next Christmas
Did anybody figure out what that is called… you know the blowing a raspberry thing that she does. The thing that George Carlin (incorrectly, I believe) reffered to as a “Bilabial Fricative”.
I found something on it & I thinks what she is doing is called a “linguolabial trill”… is cute whan she does it though.
A bilabial fricative? That will make her eyes roll back in her head for sure, not to mention curl her toes.
Call me when it happens; I want to be there.
Omagad!
People on YouTube leave the most shameful comments on the planet! After reading some of them, I felt like I lost half of my IQ points.
{goes to sleep, to have nightmares and dream about an auto-ban system}
I know how you feel Chemikal, that’s why i originally unsubscribed from You Tube.
Oooohhh, my eye just caught the new slogan enhancement,
far upper right. No, it didn’t hurt. I like that font.
viewing From the back of the helmet the losers (Steelers) Logo is on the right, viewing from the front of the helmet the logo is on the left
What side is the logo on if you are to the right of the player looking straight at the logo?
In front?
On the same side as it was originally.
Homework: Over the right ear
Steagles? LOL!
Careful with that helium!
Amen brother. But did you know about the team of combined Buffalo Bills and New York Jets? It was called the Jills…
Hey pal, no I didn’t get that far with checking the names of other combined teams. Thanks for the info and I hope everything is going great with you. I don’t know if I could play for a team with a name like the Jills, but if the pay is good enough I’ll play
withfor the Suzans.Dear совершенная Марина Орлова, Nice of you to post a video so early, today.

He better play some of his classics like Born to Run
The network should play both videos as part of a pregame show.
Oh Marina, you’re so goofy and beautiful. Always a winning combination in my book
Hello Marina! I want to know what the word [twilight] means. And I have one more question; do you edit your videos yourself? Hugs!
Got me thinking of Paramore’s (UNOFFICIAL) “Decode”. (Even though I didn’t care for the movie.)
Oh forget that one, I found a BETTER LINK.
can you explain what armageddon means.
You forgot the []
well, it depends on how you look at it…
looking at it from the back it’s on the right….of course, this is the wearer’s perspective, so most people say it’s on the right…
but if you are the opponent, you’re looking at it from the front, so it’s on the left…
okay, i’m done confusing myself now…

Edelweiss per the wikipedia
The ocarina sound is popular on synths but if you watch ITGas0eHE5I on youtube “triple ocarina” you’ll see what they can really do. The majority of the world has no idea that they are a real honest orchestra quality instrument, I hope to help gain it some long missing attention.
Thank you, Im horrible though, just been learning from November.
I really don’t care for football.
Yah!
ATAAAAAAACK!
CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGE!
Isn’t that what Custer said?
This is an interesting and very constructive remark, Fredjr.
Yes, I guess that’s what Custer said, at some point in his life.
Looks like he said that too:
“There are not enough Indians in the world to defeat the Seventh Cavalry.”
Homework
