Rubik’s Cube (CubeCheater iPhone App)

I had a Rubik’s Cube back in Russia and learned how to solve it with some formulas.  I remember things like FLFLULUL or RUBBUB… oh I can’t remember then now!  Anyway.. I thought this iPhone Application called CubeCheater looks pretty awesome!   It uses the Kociemba algorithm, which I guess is impossible to do mentally, right?

You can get it here in the iTunes store.

I’m trying to figure out the point of the App.

If it teaches you how to gain the knowledge to logically solve it, I think that’s beneficial.

Just solving it for you might have some use in returning the cube to its original state for re-gifting? :???:

Not All That Shines Is Not Gold, and now I got angry because i spend a lot of time in research about it. I know how to solve the Rubik with the layers method and Im sure that theres diferent scrambling levels. If you do the flipping corner move like BL T BL’ T BL T’ T’ BL’ FR’ T’ FR T’ FR’ T’ T’ FR at oposite faces, you ll need at least 36 moves. Sorry 4 my english :p but doesnt matter compare with the headache  that i got with the inappropriate and incomplete information about this video

I actually do not have a word request , being a writer of poetry I think I might be able to figure out the origin of most words ..But I would love to ask you .How did you get to speak such perfect english and understand so many english words..I have tried to learn some of your native language of Russia ,and I can not even remember some of the easiest words a friend has taught me ..
    God Bless

  4. I had no idea it could be solved in as little as 6 moves!

When I had a Rubik’s Cube Key Chain, what I did was peel off the colors and had an all black cube. That was my way of “beating the system”.

And then there was the Magic 8Ball, don’t ask me what I did to that poor thing…

  5. Marina, I would like to RUBBUB against your FLFLULUL!

  6. I hold the world record for the 1×1x1.

    Ah yes, Training the mind.
When I shop I always try to add up the items as I go,
and before I get to the cashier. This helps you prepare
the change and always delights the cashier because (s)he
doesn’t have to think about giving me any. Heehee.

Here’s a guy that did a 20x cube via simulator in 4 hours:

Whoa, how rad is that?! Makes me want to hunt down the Rubik’s Cube my late Grandfather left behind — seriously, though. About 20 years ago this information would’ve really blown everone’s minds!lol  But really, the Cube is timeless, it’s just as hard to figure out on your own now as back in the day.
Exercise for the brain/mental bench press.

whats the world record for fastest cube solved ? 9s ?
Now i know how cool is the iphone , but its still too expensive (the monthly bills)

  11. People often ask me why I don’t like to play computer games. Well the fact is I do love playing computer games but would rather play a game that could be a benefit something more than I. One of my favorites is Foldit! http://fold.it/portal/info/science
What is Foldit? It’s protein folding. Why play it? You might end up curing diseases from your game play. Why not have a computer solve this problems? Humans are smarter than a computer. Computers only run programs that we make. Computers are just good at crunching raw data so we can easily digest the data and solve problems faster. Check it out. http://fold.it

I never could do a rubiks cube. I never new Lady M had that math geekiness, too. I see her word knowledge daily, but I keep forgetting about all of the techy stuff that she also does with her Mac et al.
Many of my friends are that kind of smart. My brain just does not work that way.

  13. I just remembered there were some cube masters that raced a robot. This one kid could beat the robot every time.

  14. That’s an old classic. Funny just about 4 months ago I had a Rubik’s Cube in my hand. I was able to solve the first 2 levels. If I had more time I could have solved the whole thing. I learned the tricks years ago but now I have forgotten most of them. Now I just use my brain. I can think in 3 dimensions so it’s not that difficult for me to solve it.

Love the app. It’s amazing a computer can look at a photo and solve a puzzle. Wish I had that years ago. What will the programmers think up next?

  15. It’s not cheating if you don’t get caught doing it, right? That’s like cribsheet 101

Anyone can solve a 3D Rubik’s Cube… Make me an app to solve a 4D one, then I’ll be impressed!

  17. Yes, rubik cubes are such fun. I got some cubes with the color peel off square stickers just for that purpose, for when things get too frustrating or plain boring; carefully peel off each of the color squares and place those on a piece of wax paper then rearrange the color squares back on the cube for a quick win.

I’m wondering if you could take all the stickers off when it was messed up, put them back on as if the puzzle were sovled, then mess it up and solve it again?

Or does it only work one way?
Never solved one but I have taken one apart, pretty interesting how it works inside. :???:

Have ya ever seen the one with eight sides?

Cool, wonder if it works on ipod touch

 I had a really small Rubik’s Cube that could worn as a necklace! But, I never had the patience to solve it :!: Back in the 80’s this is all we had to help solve it: http://www.whatihaveread.net/i/0886.jpg

Now I have a reason to buy an Iphone

I’ve got a Rubik’s cube, and I am only able to solve 2/3 of the puzzle.

  23. I had a keychain size cube and would challenge people to find one I couldn’t solve (back in the 80’s). I didn’t know any of the FLUFF orr RUBBUB stuff, but I had an algorithm worked out in my head that always worked. Ancient history, now

I can solve my 3×3x3 cube and twice I’ve solved a 5×5x5 cube.
