Hmmm site re-design eh. Lets see if my ideas can be of any use. First of all, I think it’s too cluttered. You try to fit everything on the front page, and it looks cluttered & complicated (at least to me).
How about a new “Hot For Words” Banner at the top, all shiny and new (hey why not update everything, right?).

Then change the “Featured Content” thing to have slides of the Nerd Word of the day, Twitter/RSS, and your new book (not previous videos). Beside that you can post a banner/link to the previous videos (as some people probably won’t check the links at the top.

When doing the featured content slides, make it general with a picture, example, or something so it doesn’t need to be constantly updated. People can click it and be directed to your twitter, RSS, or Nerd Word of the day page for more information

The “Latests Posts” section might do better aligned to the left, and can be a sort of Twitter-like feed showing the latest things you’ve done, including video thumbnails that link to youtube for video posts, links to nerd word of the day or Articles.

On the right side of the page, there can be a bar with various things like:

Shoutouts: put stuff like Channei’s videos/animations here, or other posts to recognize helpful and creative fans.

Events: Upcoming events

You can make each section a slightly different color, or do something to prevent it from looking like one big thing that blends together.

Just some thoughts.
New comments at the Top or Bottom?
New comments on top seems to be the most efficient to me. That’s how most forum systems are set up, but some people seem to prefer old comments on top. I would have to assume it is so they can comment first, and always have theirs viewed first upon visiting the page. A bit greedy if you ask me.
If new comments ended up on the bottom, I would have to scroll down and go through pages in order to see the latest comments, what good is that?

So good with books and finding words, Marina. How is it finding origins to any words in this day & age? Everything going digital, information scattered and from unreliable sources. Hardly anyone uses books anymore.
I know I find the internet difficult to look through for reliable information. There may be lots of results in a search, but all of them are from random .com sites that could have been made in someone’s basement.
Never on a Sundae
I think I had maybe 1 sundae ever, not sure what it was. I mostly just put ice cream in a cup with some milk and blend it.
