I judge a man 3 ways: what he does, what he says, and if he does what he says. Simple, yes; but it always seemed to work for me. So far, BHO has failed in all 3 of these criteria.
I have 2 rules for life:
1) Lead from the front, dont watch from the rear.
2) You dont get respect, you have to earn it…everyday.
I think hes failed in #1 by waiting to take a position and then changing. I agree with Cha-Cha(surprise) on #2. Because hes president, BHO feels he already has our respect. I think alot more people are having a ‘wait and see’ attitude.

So lets try this again. I had a great Friday night. Met up with some friends from boating. They wanted to go drink wine and enjoy the evening telling stories and what not. So all five of us went to Marie’s condo. Oh yeah her name sounds similar to Marina. She’s even good with words. So all 5 five of us (3 ladies and 2 guys) talk about boating rules, Music and words. Yes, we talked about words. Marie brought out her laptop and looked up words. It was like a HotForWords party! I did not write down the words we were looking up for I could not find my jacket that had my note pad and pen. Hey I was drinking some wine (which is very rare for me) and duck farts. So one words had to do with one slice of bacon. I’ll ask Marie what the words were and get back to you guys. I think you might enjoy them. It turned out to be a really fun evening. Any of you guys ever have a party and talk about words or etymology?

There is a board game out called ‘boulderdash’
that is great! You get a really obscure word and then make up definitions of what you think it should be compared to the real definition and everybody votes. Intellectually stimulating, its fun, and you’re excercising your brain; what more could you ask for. Ohh, every now and then you might have to give a fake belly laugh for the double-digit I.Q.’s

Duck farts are a very sweet drink. I don’t drink hard A that often but when I do I never turn way a drink like that. I like to see the reactions from adults that have never tasted the drink before. It’s kind of sneaky. It’s sever in a shot glass and you have to drink the whole think in one swallow to get the effect. Funny people see it as a really harmless at the first swallow as the seconds pass then BANG! It gets them. LOL.
You guys really like his first video? Humm Maybe I need to re-upload my video. I uploaded it already but Youtube rejected it for it was too long. It’s 15 minute long an YouTube that is full of weird stuff. I just have to find a way to cut out 5 minutes of video without losing continuity. I also have an issue for it has copyrighted music in it. I just can’t do an overlay for there is speech that would get wiped out. It’s a really corny video I did many years ago to learn how to use iMovie 2 for the Mac. The goal was to do every mistake one could do with a video. We applied many special effect that turned out rather funny.
Question, if I upload this video will it get flagged right away? I don’t have the original file we used to make the video and I don’t know yet out to pull out the music and replace it with something else for it’s mixed up with voices. Any ideas?

interesting theory explaining the development of language. language emerged from mother-infant communication during the evolution australopithecus to homo. i don’t think this is the strongest theory for language development. however i do think that mother-infant communication was a benefit of emerging language that further contributed to the success of the species and the continuation of the language traits. i think this is a fascinating theory as i have watched the interaction of mothers and children and the motivation for encouraging vocalization seems to be so very fundamental. the emotional rewards received by both i think is an indicator of a very important process. although this observation is based upon western culture alone and may not be practiced in other cultures. hmm… going to check that out. anyway moms yeah, important.

I dont know about mother but I always thought mom, momma, etc. came from the fact that the M-M-M sound is the easiest and therefore the first sound we make. The P-P-P sound is kinda easy, too. Pop,poppa…? Just a theory I came up with.
Really, I heard just the opposite — that children say the “da” sound first. (Father’s get all excited about this.) However, my daughter’s first word was “up.” As in — pick me up!

no, marina’s wrong on that one. the word “mom” doesn’t come from the sound of an infant suckling from the breast. it is a very simple and passive sound to make and therefore one of the earliest ones to emerge. through positive feedback provided by the mother the sound may become strongly associated with the mother. the infant may come to recognize this and use it for further attention, which is an example of two individuals reinforcing behavior in each other. alex is correct, the explanation is simple body mechanics, motor skills and child development.

That seems to imply three possible meanings a baby might have for “mama”: while suckling, the baby hears the sound it makes “mama”; it then associates the sound “mama” to either the activity of sucking and/or the source of suckling — which could be breasts or mother. So the three meaning are suckling, mother, and breasts!

As a percussionist I thought the finger-snapping thing was neat. I also liked the sneeze. The rest, for me, was more of the same YT fodder – attempt at being profound and using electronic enhancement to cover/embellish moderate musical ability. However, you can’t ignore the videographic and computer skills.
I totally agree that some collaboration could do a world of good for you as you strive to reach a young demographic and just expand your viewing audience overall, whether I’m into it or not.

He is not really snapping his fingers is he? To me, it appears that he is just acted like he was snapping his fingers while shooting the video — not lip-syncing, but finger-syncing! Also, he might have added the sound after shooting the video.
Oh, no, not “live” by any stretch. I just enjoyed all the syncopation.
OK. While the music is interesting, for the video to be captivating as a video, the finger-syncing must be fool proof; but the finger-syncing in the video is weak.
I suspect it is hard to overlay music on a video as a post-production step: at least one magicians on YouTube plays music during his performance to prove to the audience that he is doing “real magic” and not using camera tricks — to prove that he is showing the audience raw footage. He says that if he used camera tricks, people would notice breaks in the music because he says it is hard to sync music to a video that is not a raw footage but an arrangement of clips.
I understand what you are saying about the video. I just meant I can close my eyes and still enjoy the aural experience.
For what it’s worth, since I sorta know the dude who did the snapping vid, the snap sounds actually are “live”. I–er, I mean, HE–set the editing timeline up with markers every four frames to act as eighth-note markers, then starting cutting up the original snapping footage and dropping different snaps in to construct the beats.
Regardless, the video is novel at best and this Michael Aranda dude probably won’t hold anyone’s attention for very long.
Hey, be sure you tell that guy he has some great rhythm, and to expect his videos to do great.

Marina, my guess regarding why his videos have so much visual-clarity is that most of the boundaries between objects (the “edges”) in his videos are enhanced. It could be that his capture software does edge enhancing, or that his compression scheme preserves edges, or that most other people’s capture software blurs/softens edges, or that most other people’s compression software has the side effect of blurring edges. I would guess that your software has an edge enhancing option — would be worthwhile to try that, if you haven’t already.

Just got done checking the old count down clock, and its OFFICIALLY 1291 days till next presidential elections. Disregard any previous statements made by yours truly. Evidently, and I know you ain’t gonna believe this; but I wrote that without knowing the proper date. Huummm… thats kinda like talkin before thinkin’, right? Gets me to thinking about Nancy Pelosi. In fact, she is such an artful and faithful follower of this that I think there should be a word, we’ll call it “pelosied”; which means, I don’t know: ‘engaging ones mouth to speak while ones brain has not even arrived at the conversation’.
LATEST EXAMPLES: 1) Pelosi stated yesterday that she had no knowledge of EITs taking place at any time. A Washington Examiner article (11/07) placed her and several other top democrats at “at least 30″ meetings where these techniques were discussed and ratified. These same democratic leaders not only whole-heartedly supported EITs, they were worried WE WEREN’T DOING ENOUGH! I will sit here a minute and let you read that again. So, you could say when she spoke of having NO knowledge of ANY EITs; she “pelosied”.
2) Pelosi and top dems pushed BHO into releasing classified CIA documents pertaining to torture and are now pushing strongly for these attorneys to be tried for torture crimes. Evidently she doesn’t realize that, because of (1); she is what is known as an accomplice and SHOULD be tried also. This is another case where she “pelosied”.

Captain Jack, are you there? I need some help with a Twitter issue. In a nutshell, I attempted to create an account months ago when Marina began using it. Ever since, when I try to log on, it says user name and password already taken. The VERY FIRST TIME I logged on after creating the account I was successful. That was the one and only time.
I thought I would try to simply delete this and start fresh, but everything wants my USER NAME AND PASSWORD…you see where I’m going with this.
Was hoping that with your newfound interest in and usage of Twitter you would be The Man who could lend a tired old redneck a hand.

Sounds like you have a twitter cookie installed that is referring to your old account. I bet you’re using Microsoft Explorer for it does this crap all the time on people. Ok go to the twitter log in page and click on the little link that says forgot password.

It will ask for your log in name or email that you used when you signed up the first time. Once you inter that information it will walk you through the process.

In the beginning of the second video, I thought he would reveal that he was shooting a miniature sand-box, but it turned out he was shooting the real thing. Anyway, in the second video, the only content I liked somewhat was the “search for the alligaTOR” part. I guess this was a spoof of “nature/wild-life TV shows”?
The DFTBAs I liked from the video were Don’t Forget That Brains Attract and Don’t Forget To Be Awesome. I would have said: Don’t Forget To Be Aware — which is similar to something I wrote years ago: Always be in focus, including while happy.
I am now going to be bothered until I have figured out why his videos are so clear (‘why’ meaning how he achieves such visual-clarity)!
