Zmogo Interview
I did an interview for Zmogo which gives a little insight into some of my success and what has been my strategy for the past few years.
Pop on over to Zmogo to read it and let me know what you think.

I just got around to reading the article. I knew that Lady M was business savy. I appreciate her multi-faceted talents: linguistic content knowledge, technical expertise, shrewd business/marketing sense, extremely charismatic personality, and the foot-in-the-door bombshell-blue-eyed looks. Throw that together with a dedicated work ethic and we see a success story.
Interesting, your interview has a related headline listed below it, “512GB Flash Drive”. I wonder how your interview is related to that!
Bienvue en Europe maîtresse adorée, I hope you have a great time at the Côte d’Azur.
I think this article is telling the story of your success very incompletely. To me, the most impressive thing about your success is the way you’ve evolved your channel since you started. You’ve been constantly expanding your technical skills. In your very first videos, you were using tablet until you figured out how to insert texts in your videos, to mention just one example. You’ve been constantly working on perfecting your videos with an impressive result.
Lately you’ve decided to bring some more comedy into your videos. The result, as far as I can see, is that your videos get more views and that the number of your subscribers is rising faster again. And you’ve shown that you’re able to adapt yourself to new situations like the changes in Youtube’s “Videos”-section.
New media analysts are talking about community building since the 1990s. You’ve simply done that. Using a website to gather a community of loyal followers like you’ve done is much more than just setting up a website.
To summarize that in brief: Your success hasn’t come to you because of your cleavage, you’ve earned it through constant hard work and good instincts. It’s really hard to believe that your channel is made up by a one-woman-one-dog team.
Hello to y’all
The interview is a demonstration of the effectiveness of your strategy and shows your supreme intelligence, Marina. We know how sexy you are AND how you use it to such advantage in educating us! It’s so good to see you getting the recognition you deserve.
Hello Everyone,
Ron Callari who wrote the nice article above also wrote
the article on the Top Ten Internet SuperStars of 2009. a while back.
At the end of the article is a voting widget where the winners of those 10 stars will be announced May 15, 2009.
Could all of you go over there and vote for Marina.
Thanks to you all.
I loved the interview Marina and thank you for sharing your different experiences with Twitter and your other adventures.
Regarding branding, I love the seamless flow of your banner image when going from your YouTube channel to this site. I made mentioned it when you first made the change. Very nicely integrated and unified.
Continued congratulations on your success. It is good to see that the American Dream is still alive and well.
Seems like an internet savvy type of article to me. I respect that.
You always fascinate me, Marina.
Congratulations (again) on the article. I think it was an excellent one. And have fun doing your thing at the festival. Be safe.
Always.
More than just a One-Net wonder. A “one-net wonder” is a new phrase to me and I like it!
I know… it’s more than a “one-net wonder”… but I like it!
I always suspected everything you do is well calculated from some kind of main strategy. You do have a business plan (model) tuck neatly away in your head.
I felt that this interview was geared towards people trying to brand themselves online.. so I put on my professional, business-y voice
Confession, I wrote the above statement before I ever read the article. Just now did I read it.
You possess a natural business instinct, an intelligence to view the situation, sum things up and then make the correct decisions.
Being a genuine good human being doesn’t hurt either.
The interview was about people trying to BRAND themselves online!!! Ouch – Now you are just frightening me!
Just ignore me, I might go away
3. A mark burned into the flesh of criminals.
You made me do it.
Johnny Cash – These Hands…ps..I hope your country allows this video
Wow! You’re filming at the Cannes Film Festival on a yacht! You’ll not want to leave the place. Last time I was in France, was a skiing trip in Lac de Tignes (Savoie; Espace Killy resort in the Rhone-Alpes). Fantastic pistes!
Lousy accommodation.
Our piping hot showers were so bitterly “brass monkeys”, that it hurt the skin.
Well, Say hi to my x-girlfriend if your journey takes you near Le Mans. You’ll have to do some origins of French words adopted into English, like [Le mot juste] or [Raison d'etre] or whatever.
With the number of autism cases rising, it’s sweet to hear you tutored such a child as an Au Pair.
You proceeded with your own best judgment of the circumstances and of what needs to be done for your goals — while not making the mistake of trying to shoehorn some “strategy” being touted by the business majors/managers as “the best strategy for making money with the new technologies”, correct?
And the “strategy” mentioned in the interview is just an abstract statement that captures/summarizes the approach of the past few years?
If you are revealing the essence of what you have done for the past few years, does it mean that you now have a new/updated/secret strategy currently — to go beyond where you are now?
It’s all about keeping them guessing
I love guessing games.
Why do you think I get up in the morning?
OK, it’s another bright shiny day, lets see if
I can guess what HotForWords is up to.
Of course, I always get it wrong.
[EMO]…brand me, my acking back…the original:-)“Games People Play”…[emo]?
“Games People Play”
Dear Marina,

The article is accurate. You have the excellent combination of great beauty, a fine speaking voice, deep knowledge of subject matter and the imagination to creat delightful ways to present your material. I’ve taken business courses in marketing and advertising, and can’t suggest ways for you to present your material better.
When I start to make my own videos, I’m likely to borrow some of your techniques, although there’s no way I could imitate your beauty. As they say, “imitation is the highest form of flattery.” I need to make videos that provide a useful service, as your videos do.

Thinking is all I do!
Quote from Marinas HotForWords site of LeaRNiNG
Bohr had qualms about the consequences of the bomb. He angered Winston Churchill by wanting to share information with the Soviet Union and supporting postwar arms control. Bohr went on to organize the Atoms for Peace Conference in Geneva in 1955.
“The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. The opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth.” – Niels Bohr 1885-1962
In addition to his major contributions to theoretical physics, Bohr was an excellent administrator. The institute he headed is now named for him, and he helped found CERN, Europe’s great particle accelerator and research station. He died at home in 1962, following a stroke.
“An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made, in a very narrow field.”

So you’re going to be interviewing the Glitteratti in Cannes? How exciting! I’m really envious; I used to live near Cannes but haven’t been back there for nearly 20 years. Really missing the weather and the lifestyle. Have fun.
Interesting interview there. I’ve been a subscriber for over a year now, and have watched with interest – not just the word origins, but your growing confidence in front of the camera.
Many of your early videos looked like the result of dozens of takes, all carefully edited together to present a coherent dialog. Then you started growing in confidence and managed them in fewer and fewer takes, whilst also experimenting with different locations e.g. floor, sofa, perched on the edge of your bed. About that time, increasing numbers of people noticed the sister site “hot4words”, and so you created the in-joke about your sister. Now you’ve not only got the YouTube account, but a website, occasional TV appearances, a radio slot, negotiated a discount on a relevant software package, a calendar and even a book in progress. Oh, and on the technical front you’ve also started experimenting with annotations, acting (different characters) and chromakey backgorunds. What’s next – an entry in “Who’s Who”?
Then there’s Gorby. Originally just an occasional background character, following his health scare he’s almost become a sidekick – especially with the thought bubbles that appear when he wanders into shot
I nearly suggested he probably doesn’t have much idea of your fame – but he might have suspected something’s going on from the number of hours a day you spend hunched over your computer…
Oh, and for the record I’m Male, 31 and couldn’t give a damn what you wear. I’m here for the words, not your aesthetic attributes
Very interesting Marina; and I think a congratulations is in order to celebrate everything you have achieved since you first came to YouTube, those few short years ago. I’m looking forward to continuing to enjoy your lessons, for many more years to come!
I really enjoyed reading that. BUT WHERE IS THE COMMENT EDITOR?
oh, there it is
ha
Everytime I turn on my laptop when I get home you post something new!!
