- Dear Marina,
Congratulations on that feature on Korean TV. It had many scenes of your home studio, lights, background, camera and scenes of editing videos on a Mac. You look good!
I was stationed in Korea and actually learned the language reasonably well. Now, I can hardly understand the announcers. You have to practice to keep language skills. I didn’t use that language after the Army brought me home!
Komap sumnida (Thanks).

- Tissue + Sneeze
Dear Marina,
When you ask a question, please make it a proper question. For instance, “What was I talking about?” (Чем я говорил о?)You said, “What I was talking about?” This seems declarative, not interrogative. English is not like Russian. We’d ask “What was I talking about?” It’s not “What I was talking about.”
The difference might seem subtle, but it’s obvious to us. “Sneezes were what you were talking about.”
I still like you,
Seesixcm6 - Bulgarian E-Comedia Article
Dear Marina,
Congratulations on the article in a Bulgarian website. You truly are an international star! There have been many articles in Russia, China, Germany, and many other foreign countries. Also, many of your subscribers are from foreign countries, such as England, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and other places. Because you do most of your videos in English, I think you will help make English the universal language on YouTube and in international relations.
I also like that you speak English in different accents. I enjoyed your English accent in your “Limey” video, the used car salesman in you “Oleaginous” video, and you even did a Thai accent, there! You probably could make us laugh if you spoke English in a thick, Russian accent, like Boris and Natasha, but you probably could do a “Valley Girl” accent even better!
Thank you for making the world a better place with all your videos!
Seesixcm6 - Interview for Betty Confidential
Dear Marina,
Please don’t worry about those who complain about your English, such as articles you leave out (the, this, etc.) or words you may mispronounce (deus, Spokane, laconic, etc.). It’s easier for us to understand you if you would include the articles, and unless you’ve heard every word many times, it’s probable you’ll occassionally mispronounce a word. You actually speak much better English than many Russian or Chinese people I’ve met. (The Chinese don’t use articles, either.)I’ve studied Russian for a few hours, and I’m sure I’d make many mistakes if I tried to speak to you in Russian.
On a happier note, you birthday is coming, soon. Last year, I sent you a birthday card. I hope you got it, Would you like a special Christmas present? How abou a seafood dinner, dancing, and then, a sleep over at your pkace? I think you’d like it.
Seesixcm6 - Those Limeys! Plus a little Gymkhana
Dear Martina,
For your homework, there are many. many strange British phrases:
Anti-clockwise” is a misleading term for counter-clockwise.
“Antipodian” actually refers to people from Australia. (No, it doesn’t beg the question, “Who are the Podians and why are we against therm?’) It means “other foot.”
“Arse” refers to buttocks, but they use “ass” as a word for donkey.
“Arse over elbows” is similar to “head over heels.”
They have strange names for food, such as “bangers” as a type of sausage, or “chips” as a type of deep fried potato.
Automotive terms are different, too: A “bonnet” covers the front engine of a car. We normal people call it a “hood.” For their cars, a “boot” isn’t footwear. We call it a “trunk”, here. They use the strange term, “circlip” to describe an ordinary snap ring, here.Marina, I’d glad you learned American English, instead of the foreign languages they speak in the UK.
