The smell from National Geographic or other glossy …

Comment posted Got a Kindle miss that booky smell? by CampKohler – Sacramento CA.

The smell from National Geographic or other glossy publications is not musty; it is the smell of the clay coating on the paper that makes it glossy. I remember that the smell of the mud in my 5th-grade schoolyard in San Antonio, TX was exactly the same. Every time I smell glossy paper, I remember crossing the yard in the rain and winding up with two inches of clay stuck to my shoes.

Now, there is a musty smell to some old magazines (like Life magazine) having a somewhat smooth paper (as opposed to newsprint or standard books). But I think they get that way through age, so the phrase “new book smell” would not apply. I wish I could smell the stuff so that I could tell for sure.

Personally, I sit for love, peace and understanding. It’s much less tiring, as we will both have a long, long wait.

Thanks, James. I especially liked the video. (A still photo of the wind blowing, is somehow lacking. )

When the port in the video says it has closed, I wonder if someone approaching in a boat in need of a safe haven is just being told, “Die, sucker!

Are you looking into accessibility with regards to the handicapped, such as the deaf? It seems to me that having a notated version of the videos for the deaf to read would not be too much of an additional workload, especially if the work could be done by TA’s.
