If the word ends in s, just put apostrophe at the end.

That is the American way, at least. I know Brits have different rules with bibliography, footnotes, quotations, and parenthesis. They might have different rules with apostrophes also.

ps Old school numbers and symbols had an apostrophe if plural. eg. #’s or the 1980’s. This is no longer correct for plural only, so now we say #s and the 1980s.
Pool pump finally arrived after 1 week. It was such a pretty green . Grandkids went swimming yesterday anywho. They said, “At least is doesn’t have any fish poop in it!”
