    Jajajaja ¡que traducción más ridícula!

    I’ll try to do better:

“The first image that every man and woman has of Marina Orlova is the same; they judge her, thinking that her success owes itself to her beauty, her enviable curves, by being one of the most sensual Russian women; nevertheless, the reality is otherwise, in that the key of success is the preparation with which she relates and the ease that she has in saying all that she wishes.”

Oops. I forget to think in English when I’m typing the translation.

“Fame came to the life of Marina in 2007, when this woman of 28 years, who was voted by Wired magazine as the World’s Sexiest Geek, decided to try her luck in the United States, the country where she would initiate a chain of very interesting projects, such as happened with the Hot For Words site, a place where the philologist would present in two minutes’ time the meaning and etymology of a word.

“A project that despite appearing little attractive for the type of information that people look for on the Internet, became a complete success, included in the YouTube video channel, where she is described as the person with the most subscribers. Besides her presence on the web, she also has a radio show and is found promoting a book, and also is the visual image of the GoDaddy site.”

Hmm, Capman has a point about the sentence structure. The problem appears to be the writer, not anything inherent in Spanish.

  2. I can only describe the article as “magnifico y mirabilloso!” You really are “formidable”, la bella Marina.

sorry, but I simply dont like that kind of comments. Sorry if it was ironical or so what. (Buenas Tag <– that was funny XD).
I comment often in Youtube, not here… but thanxs

  4. It was about time to see Marina in a mexican newspaper, hope more newspapers follow “el grafico” and make more articles about her, also here in Monterrey Mexico, there is a section called magazzine, hope she also appears in there.

Marina is the best, THE BEST embodiment of the expression: “From Russia with love”

jajajaj “Navy”… that cause “Marina” in spanish means “navy”. Che Volay, you’re an asshole, “You’re one Hot Tamale”…. what a stereotype of a mexican (im not one, but chilean-german).

  6. Che Volay says: 9

If my Spanish is correct it says: “You’re one Hot Tamale”

I think it is a cool article. Hard to follow the sentence structure but Congratz on another mention.

Great little article. There are always amusing things that tickle me when looking at translations, like you mentioned, Marina translating to Navy.

    The first sentence translates to:
“…but also the reasoning ability that counts.”

So, I’m thinking, yes she can count, but what is she counting and then realizing that it refers to something of importance such that it matters. In other words, “…reasoning ability that matters.”

    Then, to the left of the photo, it says Figure, but they left the answer blank as I was expecting something like;
    Figure: sexy hourly glass

But, the word figure is the translation of “El Gráfico”, the name of the magazine which could also have been translated to graphic or image.

This has been out for about half an hour, and no one’s seen it yet? (I just got back from shopping for video cameras; going from analog output to DVD to PC is getting to be a pain, which can be eliminated with a flash based video camera.)
