I keep getting asked how I make my HD videos.. so here is an attempt to explain how.

First of all, I shoot with a Sony HVR-V1U which is an awesome camera. It looks like more camera than it is... it's basically a video camera that shoots in a form of compressed HD. You can get it discounted at Amazon.

I put the camera on a tripod, turn the screen around so that I can see myself and then record.

Then I bring it into my Mac and edit in Final Cut Pro.

I then output the final product at 1280x720 H.264 at 4mbps and <strike>128kbs aac audio</strike> actually aac is no good it hickups in HD mode.. I am going (Apple) loss-less audio from now on.

The file sizes are large and it takes forever to compress.. but I think the results are worth the wait.

Here are a couple of my videos in HD:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P6kswFyiqY&fmt=22
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr81tW_u5aI&fmt=22
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_PbFDsyKQU&fmt=22

Go ahead and ask me any more questions you may have.
