I was saying that I live in Toledo, Ohio which the media called THE RUST BELT in the 1992 election. And this part of the country only gets worse. when I was and am disabled and unemployed I considered it a good opportunity to catch up on my reading and my culture and my new shortwave radio hobby. I had found the Chuck Swindoll book LIVING ON THE RAGGED EDGE on the book of Ecclesiastes to be very helpful. It talked about savoring the simple pleasures of life. I always said nice long warm bath, a full night's sleep, a satisfying meal. I do not have a wife to enjoy life with but my mom is my best friend. NOBODY LOVES YOU LIKE YOUR MAMMA said BB King. Bible study intrigues me but I do not think like the people in church on sunday. After I graduated from high school in 1977 I also told myself I wanted to be a Christian disciple and not a one hour a week Sunday christian. Life has it little challenges. Another idea I think Insight brought out was having a hobby or an activity and sticking to it as opposed to just accumlating a house full of junk that you do not use. I did not watch TV very much between 1986-1994. My foes from the government here now harass me so I do not get a full night's sleep and they heckle me when I eat as they can see the kitchen from next door's near pink house. it is like they play SPY VERSUS SPY in the old Mad Magazine. And they harass me like I was an enemy agent! I guess my Canon Digital Rebel which I bought on credit in 2005 enraged the government and they even heckled my house and said my former wife rides the bus. So, I came up with this SLIDE photo essay taken with my latest Digital Rebel XTi showing that where my former wife lives with her mom and dad is a prosoperous neighborhood with golf courses and boat clubs. that is one way to fight govenment disinformation.
Insight for Living used to be in Fullerton California at the time I discovered them and the book Living on the Ragged edge by my shortwave hobby and a DX from TWR Monaco. I am sure you know where Monaco is.

If there's one thing all people have in common, it's that we want things--and we often feel disappointed and dissatisfied when we don't get them.

You can't always get what you want, but you can get where you're headed if you just keep going. In the meantime, these suggestions may help you feel more content with the reality you have right now:

1. Acknowledge where you'd like to see improvements. If you're unhappy, there's a reason. Identifying what you'd like to change is the first step toward becoming more satisfied.

2. Take one step every day toward changing what makes you unhappy. The most important part of creating change is maintaining forward momentum. Spend a little time every day creating the life you want, and it will eventually become a habit that transforms your life.

3. Set small, attainable goals. This isn't to say you shouldn't set large goals. If you set small ones, as well, you'll allow yourself abundant opportunities to feel proud of what you've accomplished.

4. Do something you always wanted to do, even if on a much smaller scale. If you've always dreamed of playing piano, book your first lesson. When you go after your passions, you generally feel more fulfilled, whether you impress other people or not.

5. Make a list of your accomplishments and add to it daily. You may not realize just how many of your goals you've already reached.

6. Identify ways you've improved people's lives for the better. We've all had our It's a Wonderful Life George Bailey moments. You have made a huge difference in at least one person's life. If you can't see that yourself ask the people closest to you.

7. Practice mindfulness--focusing fully on whatever is in front of you. When you root yourself in the present moment, contentment is more attainable. It's far easier to be happy in one moment than it is to feel satisfied about decades of events.

8. Shift your focus from things you do to who you are. Even if you're not pleased with your professional advancement, you can still feel proud of how far you've come as a person--the way you make people laugh, how you're always patient and understanding.

9. Redefine satisfaction. You may think everything needs to be perfect for you to feel fulfilled. Since you likely will always strive for more in life--no matter how far you go--why not learn to feel satisfied within the process of becoming?

10. Try one new thing every day. One of the most common ways to feel stagnant is to fall into a routine. Trying something new gives you a sense of excitement and adventure. When you feel truly alive in a moment, you're less likely to dwell on things you think are missing.

And lastly, share your wisdom to feel helpful within your social circle.
