You've got your dominant teams, like the Lakers in the Pacific division and the Celtics in the Atlantic division, plus the Cavaliers in the Central division, 2 of which will most likely get to the finals. It's in your SouthEast, NorthEast and SouthWest divisions where there will be hot competition to see who gets to the playoffs. Are the Spurs too old? Will Utah or Denver finally break out of the pack? And will Portland or New Orleans improve to become top ranked teams? The competition is hot. As for my own self, I'm a Golden State Warriors fan...and you never get to see them covered in the sports shows or evening's highlights, but they're an exciting young team to watch with their run game, unconventional game plan by their coach Don Nelson, and a different soap opera drama each season. You see, the GSWs live with a curse on them...a dark cloud of doom 'n' hard luck, and have had the cloud since the 1970's. It's actually part of their charm as a team. How can things go to hell this year? It's already happening, the curse, when in preseason, Stephen Jackson, their highest paid player and team captain told the world that he wanted to play elsewhere, anywhere other than the Warriors, and he didn't want to be captain anymore. The curse lives on. It's my team though and they're fun to watch. I haven't had much exposure to what the rest of the world calls football and rugby. I guess what I know has been engrained in me in the culture I live in. I never thought of it as a pussy sport with only the little protection they wear down by their ankle! But hitting with gear they wear in american football can hurt too. My favorite sport is hockey though. I gotta say those are some crazy ass motherfuckers in that rugby scene, talk about BLOOD and GUTS!
