Charles Nesbitt Wilson (June 1, 1933 – February 10, 2010) was a United States naval officer and former 12-term Democratic United States Representative from the 2nd congressional district
Between 1956 and 1960, Wilson served in the United States Navy, attaining the rank of lieutenant. Following four years as a surface fleet officer, he was assigned to the Pentagon as part of an intelligence unit that evaluated the Soviet Union’s nuclear forces.Support for the Somoza government in Nicaragua
In the late 1970s, Wilson strongly supported the right-wing Somoza government in Nicaragua. His admiration for Somoza was unaffected by the dictator's unsuccessful effort to bribe him.[4] Wilson saw Somoza as an abandoned and betrayed U.S. ally, and he ran a rearguard action in the House appropriations committee attempting to save Somoza's regime, at one point threatening to wreck President Carter's Panama Canal Treaty if the U.S. did not resume supporting Somoza.[ ]

Wilson later arranged a meeting between Somoza and Ed Wilson (a CIA agent) who offered to form a 1000-man force of ex-CIA operatives to fight on Somoza's behalf. The meeting collapsed when Somoza fondled Tina Simons, Wilson's girlfriend, and the deal proved impossible after Somoza declined to pay $100-million for the 1000-man force.
     Drug and alcohol use
In 1980, Wilson was accused of using cocaine at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas; however, the investigation by Justice Department attorney Rudolph Giuliani was dropped due to lack of evidence.[16] Liz Wickersham told investigators that she saw Charlie use cocaine only once in the Cayman Islands, however this was outside US jurisdiction.[17] In "The Charlie Wilson Real Story" Wilson reveals he traveled to Las Vegas in the summer of 1980, and recalls an experience with two strippers in a hot tub.

The girls had cocaine, and the music was loud. It was total happiness. And both of them had ten long, red fingernails with an endless supply of beautiful white powder.... The feds spent a million bucks trying to figure out whether, when those fingernails passed under my nose, did I inhale or exhale, and I ain't telling.
— Charile Wilson[1]
When questioned about his alleged cocaine use in 2007 Wilson reaffirmed "Nobody knows the answer to that and I ain't telling".[18]

Wilson was involved in a drunken hit-and-run accident on the Washington DC's Key Bridge just before his first visit to Pakistan. A witness stated that she saw Wilson's Lincoln Continental hit a Mazda, and she took down his license plate, however Wilson was never convicted.[17]

One time I had barely gotten out of a DUI. They made me go to a class, at 7:30 on Saturday mornings, about not drinking whiskey.
— Charlie Wilson[19]
Wilson's admirers defended him in the History Channel documentary, The True Story of Charlie Wilson, stating he drank that night to ease the pain he felt for the plight of the Afghan people. After noting the incident was not portrayed in the film Charlie Wilson's War, Wilson said: "I got off easy".
sourced from above link Pope Leo XIII purportedly carried a hipflask of the coca-treated Vin Mariani with him, and awarded a Vatican gold medal to Angelo Mariani. In many countries, cocaine is a popular recreational drug. In the United States, the development of "crack" cocaine introduced the substance to a generally poorer inner-city market. Use of the powder form has stayed relatively constant, experiencing a new height of use during the late 1990s and early 2000s in the U.S., and has become much more popular in the last few years in the UK.

Cocaine use is prevalent across all socioeconomic strata, including age, demographics, economic, social, political, religious, and livelihood.

The estimated U.S. cocaine market exceeded $70 billion in street value for the year 2005, exceeding revenues by corporations such as Starbucks
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocaine The name comes from "coca" in addition to the alkaloid suffix -ine, forming cocaine. It is a stimulant of the central nervous system and an appetite suppressant. tale/tail

Every individual in the community has a duty to make sure that gang activity is minimized. Please our children of the harmful affects of gang activity. Teach them that there are many other constructive things that can be done with ones spare time.

"Men accept servility in order to acquire wealth; as if they could acquire anything of their own when they cannot even assert that they belong to themselves. However, there are always a few, better endowed than others, who feel the weight of the yoke and cannot restrain themselves from attempting to shake it off: these are the men who never become tamed under subjection. These are the ones who, having good minds of their own, have further trained them by study and learning. Even if liberty had entirely perished from the earth, such men would reinvent it. For them slavery has no satisfactions, no matter how well disguised."

Night Terrors

A night terror, also known as sleep terror or pavor nocturnus, is a parasomnia sleep disorder characterized by extreme terror and a temporary inability to regain full consciousness. The subject wakes abruptly from the fourth stage of sleep, with waking usually accompanied by gasping, moaning, or screaming. It is often impossible to fully awaken the person, and after the episode the subject normally settles back to sleep without waking. Sometimes the night terror can be recalled by the subject.

Night terrors are distinct from nightmares in several key ways. First, the person is not fully awake when roused, and even when efforts are made to awaken the sleeper, they may continue to experience the night terror for over 10 or 20 minutes. Unlike nightmares, night terrors occur during the deepest levels of non-REM sleep. Furthermore even if awakened the subject can often not remember the episode except for a sense of panic, while nightmares are easily recalled.

Children from age four to six are most prone to night terrors, and they affect about three percent of all youngsters (although people of any age may experience them). Episodes may recur for a couple of weeks then suddenly disappear. They usually occur during the first couple of hours of sleep. Strong evidence has shown that a predisposition to night terrors can be passed genetically. Though there are a multitude of triggers, emotional stress during the previous day is thought to precipitate most episodes. Ensuring that the right amount of sleep is gained also seems to be important.

While each night terror is usually different, all episodes of the same person will generally have similar traits. One seemingly universal quality of night terrors is a strong sense of danger - there is always a being, tangible or otherwise, who wishes to hurt the sleeping person. Many sufferers of night terrors are loathe to speak of them because of their violent, graphic, and sometimes disturbing nature.

The consensus for treating night terror episodes is three-pronged: gentleness, disposal of anything nearby that might hurt the subject, and avoiding loud voices or movements that might frighten the subject further. It is also critical to remember that the person experiencing the terror is unaware that they are dreaming. As a result, they may become even more agitated if they are told that "it was just a dream," as they are quite convinced that what they are experiencing is real. Night terrors are so transitory that medical help is often unnecessary, but options may range from treatment of sleep apneato prescription of benzodiazepines and psychotherapy.

The most famous avowed sufferer of night terrors is probably H. R. Giger.

Thse two are freaky. But when I went into the army a former friend of mine looked at me very somberly and said that a classmate in high school who had long curly hair and I used to dub "Cooker" like Cooker LaPresti of Melissa Manchester's band; old jack told me the guy had his head severed in a freak accident riding on a dirt bike in the country and caught a fence wire. I did not bear the man any malice.
then there was Gary Graylack who was 6 years older than me in grade school and used to wait for me by the corner barber shop to shout at me and shove me around and genrally terrorize me. Jim looked at me very somberly too and told me that Gary Graylack had got gunned down dead in a drug deal gone bad in front of Woodward high school a few years later. My dad once came to the playground and grabbed the creep by the collar and shook the shit out of him and warned him to did.leave me alone-and he did!

Yeah, I remember grabbing a blanket

Yeah, I remember grabbing a blanket on Friday or Saturday night around 12:00. Sometimes Saturday afternoon. Turn the TV on (no remote) and watch some of the scariest stuff I could possibly imagine. I feared the commercials for the movies. Now I like spook show hosts, and laugh at the "spooky" movies. Now the modern ones scare the H out of me.

@muggins-after the first one I couldn't eat meat for a long time especially sausage! It's supposedly based on Ed Gein who's territory was around where I live. @capman911-I love black and white also. I think it sometimes makes it scarier. In fact, I use to turn the color off all together and watch everything in B/W. These bubble gum cards were the cause of nightmares when I was young. The new movie is funny but just not the same.

When we or I was younger and tv was in black and white a child would believe about anything. The movie THEM came out about giant ants terrorizing the world. I still like the old black and white SciFi movies.

Among Buddhists, all living beings are born into one of the six states of existence (Samsara in Sanskrit, the cycle of life and death). All are trapped in this wheel of life, as the Tibetans call it. All beings within the six realms are doomed to death and rebirth in a recurring cycle over countless ages -- unless they can break free from desire and attain enlightenment. Further, upon death, all beings are reborn into a lower or a higher realm depending on their actions while still alive.

For those who want to watch the old version on youtube, here is the link

War of the worlds movie

It is amazing that so many people had actually thought an invasion from Mars or from another planet was happening. The radio broadcast is the best really. Sure, the movies are good, but I think to be in that time, when the radio broadcast was happening, to see the paranoia, it had to be amazing.

Even when world war broke out, their was never that kind of a rush of fear, and it changed the way people looked at things from that point on.

Another man at the Sealed Power/Escast "spycast" foundary used to mock me when I used to conduct business in the production area. Calling me FLOUNDER from Animal House when I used to think I was a bit like BLUTO (jOHN BELUSHI). the man worked with a high speed metal cutting diamond saw. they said he accidentally sawed his hand down to the wrist mabe because he was high on dope! i THINK in retrospect God had punished the man for mocking me!

IN the summer of 1988 I was passing out Billy Graham apocalypse brochure RUSHING TOWARDS THE END. The guy on the cover if it carrying a briefcase looked a bit like my former boss Barry Hamilton from Escast-"spycast" in Waterville, Ohio. they must have been watching me in secret. Because I heard on WWJ AM 950 that a man who worked at the Canon Muskegon foundary which is affiliated to Escast and Sealed Power, had flipped out over the apocalypse, nuclear armageddon, the end of the world; and he threw his young son a daughter into a giant foundary furnace in that Muskegon plant and burned his two children alive to spare them the horrors of armageddon. I reckoned God was paying back some foes in a macabre kind of way. Oh boy, Jesus!
