Anyone game for a friendly game of chess? On our honor, we both mutually agree:

    1. We wish to play one another - mano-a-mano, not my Chessmaster 2000 vs. your Deep Blue

    2. Standard rules apply, however, should one make an error, a polite request to take back a move, or otherwise deviate from the rules to be politely requested, then either approved or denied by the opponent.

    3. Algebraic notation, please, and please also feel free to comment/evaluate your own, or opponents move as the game progresses.

    4. Please suggest amendments/additions/deletions to these rules, and when both parties agree, the rule is changed, if no mutual agreement reached, the rule stands.

Anyone keen for a nice friendly game?

Great... I have a taker, from twitter, mijj offers: ...pawn to queen knight3

    BRB...

P.S. - Don't worry the notation - I can translate quite handily, and compensate by allowing confirmation of each move.

    1. e4 b6 2.d4 ... Black to move.

@mijj - Is this correct? Queen's Fianchetto Defense? if not, let me know, if so: 1. e4 b6 2.d4 ... Black to move.

Isn't Deep Blue getting a bum rap by constantly being refered to as a "chess machine" In fact I heard Deep Blue was more interested in finding a cure for cancer these days than being labeled as a "theoretical novelty"

@greatespotential - perhaps - I didn't know they had put it to other use til you just now mentioned it. Thanks!

Actually, looking just now, I think that the University of Michigan's Cancer Research department has no relation to IBM's Artificial Intelligence computer...

Ah, you are welcome Fianchetto. I'd heard about this well over a year ago so perhaps Deep Blue has already come up with a formula to end the cancer epidemic like closing down cigarette manufacturing plants *just joshing* I guess

Some cheap front like that mimic rook style boiler room operation won't hinder Deep Blue from getting to the bottom of this! Go deeper!

Where am I going to find an article I read about over a year ago It's buried in pages and pages of Harry Potter reams of whateverisms. Just where the ppl who are suppose to be finding a cure for cancer want such information to be held.
