I have more and more problems with my addiction to the Internet and my tendency to [procrastination]. The problem isn't that I can't hold on without any access to the Internet, but when I'm online, I waste much time on doing many unnecessary things instead of what I've planned before ("I promise to myself, only a few minutes, why can't I?", then I look at the clock, sh*t, several hours have gone by) and I procrastinate with many really important tasks. But my work requires access to the Internet, so I'm unable to withdraw it for months or even weeks. Now I'm searching in the Internet (!!!) for stuff about how to deal with the Internet addiction and procrastination.

How many of you does have similar problems?

Hello my name is Pat and I'm a computerholic...@ fglrx...I can easily do a 12 hour stint on this contraption. I to "procrastinate" with things I'm supposed to be doing. What works for me is I have to finish the tasks first, then I reward myself with computer time. We are kind of like the kids who when T.V. first came out laid in front of the set all day. Tech is good, just don't let it take your humanity away.

procrastination seems to go along with computing it seem to eat up a lot of time from just booting up the system or flipping through pages with possible freeze ups along the way the speed of your modem comes in to play as well with all the waiting that you tend not to think about adds up in time.
I would say do what you need to do first playing on sites like hotforwords an just writing this takes away time or going thru emails if you get a lot of junk mail this will get you as well. I guess I’m saying avoid all the little things that add up in time.
If all else fails get a good bottle of booze that should even things out…

I was in my pick-up truck, waiting for the light to turn green at a stop light, one afternoon. Keeping my eye on cross traffic and the light, looking both ways in my haste,
I noticed a woman and her small child, a girl about 4 years old, waiting for
their light to turn green. The mother was holding her daughter's hand, and when their light changed, she took a step off the curb to cross the street. But she stopped, which
caught my attention and I turned to look. The girl wasn't budging. She was poking her finger on the button of the dark green pedestrian light box that was mounted on the light pole about 6 inches above her head. She was eager to see what would happen to the light when she pushed on the button. It was rudimentary interactive media.

Hello my name is Mike and I am a computerholic. I get up in the morning eat and get on the computer. I put off the choirs I need to do during the day unless it's a Doctors appointment or something that really needs doing. I even dream of getting a Droid, or Blueberry phone so I can access the internet from any where. When my wife gets home from school she gets on one computer while I get back on another. I then sit up to 11 or 12 at night on the computer watching tv at the same time. I use to spend most of time on HotForWords and Twitter, but have burnt out on both. I mostly check my email now and look at You Tube videos or Ebaumsword, something funny to lighten my spirits. Need to find a better hobby.
