    Well I don’t have super powers. But with a little help from Archimedes, I can lift 400 tons of radioactive steel!!!

    Here is a computer animated video of the job I did in Salem Nuclear Plant in ‘08. I ran the Polar Crane that lifted the steam generators inside the radiation containment dome.

    That's wild. I take it Archimedes is the name of the Polar Crane device? I'm betting crane operators have to take a sobriety test first before they even enter that facility.

    I was being a bit silly with the Archimedes reference, since he was the first one to write about the usefulness of pulleys. Plus his famous quote: “Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it and I shall move the world.”

    As far as working in a nuclear plant, you need to undergo an extensive background check and numerous competency tests. Generally it takes about a week before you get a pass to work in one of those facilities.

    I really enjoy seeing the faces behind the screen names. We all share so much of our knowledge, opinion, feelings, etc we don't see much of the fans behind the keyboard. I like this topic for the opportunity to see who is sitting there.

    Ah, I don't know if I should show my pictures... I already feel uncomfortable with the fact I even have any on MySpace, but my friend blackmailed me into it and then some other friends put my pictures on theirs so I really couldn't do much about it... but I guess the fewer people that see my MySpace, the lower my chances are to get a stalker........... right?

    Ah, most likely I'll cave and post at least one picture using tinypics or something. -shrug- Maybe I'll feel more confident about my appearance now that I've figured out how to use make-up.
